Why I Love Socialist Freedom

This image isn't exactly relevant, but it's a nice little piece of American history

When I first joined this game back in 2010, I joined SFP because I thought it was awesome that the eUSA, of all places, had a vibrant leftist community. It was a much smaller party back then, and I wasn't too involved, but I enjoyed reading the writings of the prominent members back then. My RL politics are pretty far to the left, and based on conversations on the SFP forum and IRC, I'd wager many of the current SFP members would describe themselves as leftists, to varying degrees, in RL as well. (I'm not going to get into the debate here of how "socialist" we are in-game, PQ did an admirable job doing so here.) Of course this is not a requirement to join, as there is no place for political litmus tests in our party, but this is just the nature of our membership given the name. This shared belief has helped lay the groundwork for the staying power of SFP.

When I came back for my second act, I was thrilled that SFP was not only still around, but growing and ambitious. I got involved with the party this time around, and this is when I discovered what I really love about the party, beyond identifying with leftist politics. The activity and sense of community in SFP is tremendous to behold. There's been a common thread lately in the media about the want for more community-building in this game, and I'm here to tell you that in SFP, this is already the reality. Gnilraps himself even said on eUSAforums "You are the only TRULY active PARTY ingame these days. I hope everyone else notices this" http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,36435.0.html.

SFP is really like a small country. We have a wide variety of players that have taken on the various roles our party's infrastructure allows. New members are actively encouraged to get involved, and experienced players have been more than willing to pass on their knowledge. The result is that we have a rapidly growing core of capable, active players that are the future of this eNation. Those that dismiss SFP as nothing more than a vehicle for one or two players do so at their own peril.

Button clicking is a fantastic feature of this game, but if you're feeling a bit empty, and slightly used, after winning that 320432th Battle Hero medal, come stop by the SFP forums and see what we've got going on. If you're a new player disappointed by the other political options in this eNation, give us a try. Every where you turn in this game, all you hear is about its imminent demise. In SFP, it simply doesn't feel that way. Come for the bread, stay for the party.
