Why do we spend our precious time here?

Have you ever thought what eRepublik is really about? Why we actually play it?
Is it because of the political, economical, war module? Or the community? The choice is individual...

With the pure fact that we all decided to play this game, and make, or don’t make some efforts to upgrade and develop the virtual community, we share a common routine, which takes away real time. Our choice to play this game, makes us equal at the basis, as we are all a part of the community. Getting further in analysing the reasons why do we actually do this, we are becoming aware that the differences in our behavior, and our choices have an impact of the whole community that exist in the game. They makes us what we are. It is not like in the real life; here everybody has an opportunity to give, share, and participate in everything he/she wants, maybe even try new experiences, that we don’t have a possibility to accomplish in real life. The choices, looking one-sided, are unlimited, but on the other hand, if we all look at the bigger picture objectively, and be ready to see all its flaws in its making, then we would definitely think differently that optimistic.

It is certain that everybody has its own reasons to continue with this game. Here, we have the opportunity to present our personality on a totally different way. But honestly, I think that deep inside, even if one individual gives so much effort to pretend or change its virtually presented personality, the real face of the specific person can be easily recognized. Everyone who played with months, and spend their time here, must have met many people, which became their friends, enemies, or just acquaintances. And after we decide to take an active participation in the eRepublik community, then all the pleasures, but mostly problems, start. What makes me wonder the most, is the fact that there are many of us that continue playing this game, but they do not enjoy it. Considering the fact that this is still a game, and the concept of a game in global is to provide fun to the players, it is unexplainable to me how lot of us stopped playing for fun. Why do we actually still spend time on this game then? I can say that I am a part of that group too, I do not play for fun anymore. So, what stops us to quit it for good?

Even that we are aware of the fact that losing our precious time here is illogical and unjustified, we keep doing it, every day, and that, in some point even looks endlessly to me. As a summary, I think that the ones who can’t find the reasons for quitting, or staying, probably play for friends, or people who met here, and spent so many beautiful moments together with. At the end, they are the only valuable thing that will remain. And no matter how much changes will be implement in the game, the people will remain the same. There will always people who will hurt us, but there are others, which have the ability to heal us. The one group will always be our reason to quit, the other one our reason to stay.
But, at the end, only the memories, whether beautiful or painful, will remain.
