Things to Think On, End to Political Stagnation etc...

Day 2,053, 12:12 Published in Australia Norway by Major Lee Hung

I've been in eAus around 5 weeks now I think. (maybe more, I haven't kept track of time!) In this time, I've given out almost $31,500 in high wages to eAustralians, given many tanks & food to people in need, built a party from nothing in to a 30-member, #3 party and have hopefully brought balance back to politics. Why do I bring balance back if I don't care? Because a close election is much more fun to watch than an election decided long before the 5th of each month.

Personal Statement to eAustralia

Socialist Revolution

As stated in a previous article, I'm not going to run for PP on the 15th, and I intend to leave party politics altogether. Politics in eAustralia consist of constantly attacking each other trying to prove a point. While it has been rather entertaining, we can all safely say that one side will never agree with the other on the points being argued, because that's just the way people on here react.

So long story short, I encourage all active SR members to try their hand for party president this month. Build the party in to something I couldn't - a major success.

Wider Community

Below I've written more direct points to individuals with pointers on how to be... different. I'll be much less aggressive with my debating with people, but I'll still always stand up to those I think are 'bullying' others.

I had fun debating things with rivals, and I'm sure it won't end here. Also, this isn't me apologising to people or 'giving up'. We never know what the future holds.

From here I will mostly be doing my debates in private, as the public has been exposed to enough of my brain. I encourage others to do the same. From now if you wish to continue attacks on me, I'll probably only respond to PMs/IRC - unless your attacks are at least constructive or valid.

My Plan from Here

I'm still going to honour cabinet positions given to me in the next term, and will continue to accept positions in the future from people I feel I can work with.

However, I'm going to move mostly back to the economics module and play for fun once more. I intend to do the following:
-Continuing to give high wages to those in need of the extra money;
-Continuing to give tanks and food to those in need of supplies;
-Donate money to the eAus government each month, to create a society where the reserve bank is only ever used in emergencies during wars.
-Support SR's future ambitions to make sure the party is able to continue, and grow better than it ever could under my rule.

Hey, you...

Now for some points for our fellow eAustralians who have been a particular highlight of my time here so far.

Binda33

We have had many disagreements and many agreements. Though due to respect I have for Binda, the disagreements weren't made public; and the agreements are being used to hopefully better eAustralia, by allowing everybody's ideas to be used to create the final product - a better place to call home.

Larni & Tim

We have worked both with and against each other. I was able to show people how easy it is to make a resistance against ideas that people don't like, despite standing up to #1 parties/#1 MUs. I had much fun in our debates, but sometimes it's best to say much much less, be a lot more considerate and a lot less aggressive over the slightest disagreements. You're cool(ish) people from what I know of you from talking of things outside of eRepublik, don't let the game get to your heads!

Icetek

Never have I met an idiot like this, it makes for a really interesting read. Maybe one day, they'll write research papers on you. Poor levels of intelligence and your only accomplishment being to have made death threats to people over a game, (anger issues perhaps?) I fear for continuation of the human race if you are what future generations have to look forward to.

If you ever make a valid point or a constructive one at least, I will give you 10CC. I'm sure you could do with any extra help you can get so why not give it a try. 🙂

I present to you all - Icetek in human form

Joshua Whelan

You are an awesome person and everybody in eAustralia loves you.

..but on a serious note, yes I'm a bad person, a hypocrite etc. It is also true that I care very little for things on here - it's therefore for the best that I don't involve myself in politics, because it just results in somebody's fun being ruined. At least I am a good enough person to know when to not go too far. 😃

Everybody Else

Those on my side tolerate me, those not on my side hate me. (Maybe hate is a little strong, but you get the idea!) Somebody had to make the sacrifice however.

Feel free to vent your hate below, because I know I've annoyed/angered/upset many. I feel that what I intended to do has succeeded however; and while many won't see the benefits, I'm confident that a politically active community is way more fun & interesting than a stagnant one.

Final notes

My opinions of people remain unchanged, I'm not giving up yet and I'm still going to continue with my on-going disagreements. I will now be doing these out of the public eye however, and being a lot more constructive and useful for eAustralia. Keep politics active like this, and the country will never stagnate. (It will also keep me entertained for the duration of my stay...)

Thanks for your time and the fun over the last two weeks, but now it's time for me to repay all (most) of you! At the end of the day, nobody deserves to be exposed so much to my brain...
