the ugly truth about game companies and Tesla cars!

Day 3,818, 03:59 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

I recently saw an article discussing if erepublik labs was a good investment?

yes it is.

i wont give a link to the article because its basically a rehashing of points made by countless other authors perhaps bar the twist whether this game is financially viable.

lets discuss erepublik first.

despite what most think erepublik is above par as far as gameplay goes. certainly its not ...........(name withheld ) due to game rules. but for what it is. It somehow manage to entertain us somehow at a low enough cost to my wallet.

yes certainly with the money made they perhaps do not have enough staff to implement everything they promise. but shouldnt we in our brains have already made that connection.

shouldnt our attitude be yeah right i will belief it when i see it.

or shouldnt we promise them a meeting with our private fairy in return for an update. both promises have an equal chance of occurring.

the truth is erepublik has become a wysiwyg game what you see is what you get.

This is basically Alexis Bonte when he promises us an update

should we still write articles outlining updates we want. certainly although we shouldnt ever expect them to ever implement any user advanced idea.

that is the nature of most companies - a cocoon effect where most of them probably dont even play the game at a higher level if at all. or take notice of what their users or players are saying.

the golden endorsement reserved for articles that are popular and that is it.

"curb your enthusiasm"

probably for their programmers this is just a job.

but saying all this from a financial vantage point the game does contribute a profit to the mothership.

onto their other games -:-

how do one make money with mobile games? great gameplay or s* gameplay/no gameplay and a great trailer. unfortunately both. that hopping game of them i assume there is ppl that like it. just like there are people that loves mayo flavored ice cream.

but there is a trend in mobile games buy a template and hook up the pieces and then create a suberb trailer of supposed gameplay that never materialize.

if you can sink that low you truly make a lot of money like erepublik is doing with some of the crap they put out there.

Tesla cars

yes this must be big news everywhere Tesla reported a massive loss of somewhere near 970 million dollar. Their director in chief had a mini nervous breakdown and lost it at an investment dinner or something.

Tesla is on the other side of the coin, than game companies who regrettably seldom push the envelope, do belief that to make a self driving car omelette you sometimes have to break the occasional scientist or attorney or whomever crazy enough to belief that his car can drive him without his assistance.

they put a car in orbit and shot of massive rockets into space on investor coin.

yes risky business

that perhaps didnt pay this year. but what does the true big game companies offer a copy cat game with a great trailer. No!

in fact this is probably the difference between an Alexis Bonte and a Elon Musk. In the end your 1 dollar invested has a great potential yield with a cowboy than the person driving the Lada to work everyday.

in fact here is some advice to alexis bonte i dont really care about the save amount of money your making in this game or the mega bucketfuls your making with your game trailers i only want what is promised and gameplay versus trailers.

David Lynch blew mega bucket loads of dow producing Twin Peaks(the orginal series) I can remember story lines and bits of it so awesome it was. This is entertainment not a hospital or bakery. I dont really care about safe options I just want to be entertained and no i dont really give a hoot how much money you spend doing it or whether your game company is a safe investment.
