Dear Readers,
It is with some dismay and, alas not total surprise, that I announce the disturbing and sad news that eAustralia seems to have no interest whatsoever in the Arts. Not a creative bone in our collective body! Boring, we are deadset BORING. Dull, dull, dull. Snoozefest 2009. It's official.
Recently a fellow journalist exclaimed the depressing lack of scandal, arguments, wild accusations etc etc. that now exists with the departure of Aussie Warlord and Icey (for newbies, these were contentious characters that liked to reak havoc and generally create mayhem in the media and govt circles). Indeed, I have to agree. So, I tried to do something to keep me from falling into a coma of boredom. I tried to stimulate some creativity in our eCountry.
However, my recent attempt to create interest in my soon-to-be Society for the Arts (http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/and-so-she-said-187278/1) fell on flat ears. Four lonesome responses and no submissions....not even a PM of interest ! I even dangled some GOLD out for a tempting prize! I was merely looking for some artwork to display with the winning piece to take pride of place as the avatar for my society (The EPM Society for the Arts).
Alas, creativity must be too much to ask of this society of two-clickers. I understand if the politicians of eAus are too busy to contribute. I even understand if my fellow journalists are too busy as well. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF YOU TWO-CLICK LURKERS!!! Stop your whinging about being bored and DO SOMETHING to stimulate your brain. Participate, contribute, be a member of our community. Put yourself out there.
In a last attempt to stir you from your slumber, I have raised the prizes to:
2 GOLD for First Place (plus your artwork as the avatar, AND a full page article with interview in my paper)
1 GOLD for Second Place (plus display and article in my paper)
4 rations of Q3 food for Third Place (and a write up in my paper as well)
So...no excuses now. Get creating! Deadline is now moved to Sept 5th.

Alas, I lack the skills to participate in your competition, but I applaud your efforts.
I too, have been trying to liven up the news by providing some jokes in the hopes of entertaining some bored souls.
I hope this latest from you does not fall on "flat ears". I did lol when I read that. Did you mean that as a pun or did you get the saying wrong? Either way it's funny. 😛

@ Binda33. Of course I meant to be funny! um, i think...lol! And of course you have the skills to participate. I am sure that you have a favourite photo that you have taken, or a photo that you can enhance with Photoshop or a program similar to it? It doesn't have to be painted. Think outside the box! The textbox that is! lol
I missed the original article altogether, if I can think of something I'll give it a go.

As for the contest: should it be an artwork or it could be a nice photo as well with only a few artistic strings?
Hi Nelson! It can be a photo, a collage, anything pictoral really. I am looking for visual artwork this time, though, in the future I will also look at creative writing and poetry, etc. Just give it a go!
