So Long, and Thanks for All the Trout.

Day 1,646, 07:18 Published in Australia Australia by NewtonSG

After nearly three years in playing this game it is time to throw in the towel and end the match. I'm leaving eRepublik. I'm not one of those people who just want attention, I am actually leaving indefinitely. I'm not leaving for any reason in particular. It isn't the Game Developer/Admin's fault (if it was I wouldn't have lasted three years.), It isn't due to people or circumstances in game nor is it real life circumstances. The reason I am leaving is akin to attrition. Over the last few months I have gradually lost my motivation to even log in. Only lingering due to habit. I tried to force myself to become active by improving my Military Unit further with daily supplies and even becoming MoD and about a week ago, I just simply stopped. This brings me to one of the reasons I am writing this article.

I apologise for leaving so suddenly whilst I had so many responsibilities. I shouldn't have tried to resuscitate something that has long been gone.

As one of my last actions in this game, I'd like to send one last semi-message to a few people that I have met along the way. Undoubtedly I would have missed a lot of people but for those I forget at this moment, thanks for the memories.

The Australian Diggers MU

Thank you guys for being there for the last section of my time in eRepublik. Particularly the people who have been there from pretty much the start that helped along the way:

Miss Wolf - By far the friendliest person in eRepublik. She would support anyone if they needed help. She alone created the sense of a friendly community and would greet new players with open arms.

H. Nelson - He has put a lot of effort into the AD, all the time since the beginning of the AD he has contributed and even created our uniform. He is truly honest, good willed and modest.

Xavier Griffith - He brought an insurmountable amount of knowledge and experience to the AD and contributed an obscene amount to the AD. He is modest and is one of the hardest workers I have seen

Ouke Stinos - Without this guy the AD would have disappeared a long time ago. He contributed so much time and effort to the MU I would have to write a separate article to fit it all in. He can be a little foolhardy at times but it goes without saying that he obtained the first AD Hall of Fame and should be the next commander of the AD.

Other Honourable mentions: Xerenity and Mark Brennan - Whilst I didn't really know you too personally, you both have contributed significantly to keeping the AD in the top 5.

Politics

My presence in the political aspects of eAustralia is a little bit like patchwork but it was a significant part of my time here.

I'd like to thank the CPs that gave me the opportunity to serve in their cabinet: : Sir_c0nstant, Tim_Holtz and Majester.

And also those that voted me into senate and everyone for putting up with me.

The Green and Gold party: I was relatively new to the GGP but it was the first party that I truly supported and still do.

Military

I spent a long time in the adf back in the day. And I'd like to give homage to a couple of people.

The Super Saiyan Koalas - I had been in eExistance 6 months prior to joining the adf and this was my first squad ever. Indisputably the greatest military team in the history of eMan kind.

Crusadercarl & Aussie Vegeta - These guys could most probably be the last remaining survivors of the squad. At least, the last two that I kept in relative contact with. We and the SSK led by AV existed in the prime of eRepublik's life span. Truly an experience to remember.

Thankfully, I have had no heated arguments or rivalries.

There have been a lot of memorable moments in this game and I'm glad it ended this way; as a whisper in the night with a mediocre article. With everything said and done...

Buh-bye.
