Sharing the Wealth
JackTrout
It’s no use getting new citizens if we don’t keep them. And although eAustralia has been gaining population daily, there has also been a horrible rate of attrition in recent months. Here is one damning statistic: I recently looked through the rolls of the Australian Defense Force, and found 27 active citizens under level 25. An additional 65 were listed as dead citizens—most had dropped off around Level 20.
Clearly, something must be done to stop the bleeding. And toward that end, the New eAustralian Mentors Team was born. The team’s mission is to help newbies find the information they need to succeed in the game, and to help them get past that Level 20 black spot.
Mentors have been assigned to all new citizens up to Level 25. As newbies arrive, they are assigned to a personal mentor, who friend’s them and PM’s them links to useful articles, food and weapons drops, etc. When newbies have questions about the game, they know they have someone to go to who will help them find answers.
If eAustralia is to move forward, the wealth and knowledge of our small but thriving country must reach all levels of its citizenry.
How can you help?
1) Become a mentor--The only requirements are that you are over Level 25, an active player, and able to work independently within a loose structure. You must be willing to keep in touch with the team and your assigned mentorees (yeah, we hate that word, too) regularly, and do some minimal record keeping. And not be a troll.
😃
2) If you are under Level 25, there are other tasks you can help with until the team has confidence that you are ready to start mentoring.
3) Benefactors welcome! Gifts of food and/or weapons can be very heartening to a new player; we all remember those difficult days… And it is important that mentors need not be rich to participate. As a non-government, privately funded initiative, we are grateful for help with supplies of any kind.
If you are a newbie who is feeling neglected or has not been contacted by a mentor, PM someone from the list below—we are just getting this off the ground, and a few gaps are inevitable.
For further information, or to join or donate, PM a team member today. Rock on, eAustralia!
Cheers from the New eAustralian Mentors Team:

You dudes are doing fine work, keep it up o/
I highly recommend all noobs do this program.
When I have slightly more time I intend to help out more.
Awesome idea guys! Can I suggest changing the new player welcome message to reflect out intent, and to explain why they are (probably) in occupied territory.
I think you may be referring to the gov welcome message, which we have no say in. Our team welcome message explains our goals. But yeah, good idea to explain about occupied regions-- we are just finding our way here, and I think it's important we not overwhelm people with TMI straight away. Good points though, and we will discuss them further. Cheers
Though its really a CP thing, traditionally speaking it has been our Senate that votes in majority and I am hoping for the restoration of the old Senate after the elections. If not, then we'll go from there.
Really good program! 🙂
inb4: Icetek comments on how this is a 'half-arsed idea' and has already 'been done' along with other unfounded insults.
