Return To The Renaissance

Day 2,589, 10:34 Published in Canada Canada by Acacia Mason

First, a little mood music for this article. I would say this song pretty accurately reflects my journey in this game over the last 5 years haha.

Alright, down to business.

Firstly, I want to extend my deepest thanks to those who endorsed my article yesterday. I am glad to see Snimda recognizing the importance of the Media Module. It is not lost on me that a number of you made a monetary donation to me as a token of appreciation. Thank you. Let me also say this though moving forward. If you are going to endorse an article of mine, please make sure I have earned it through the quality of my writing. I would very much prefer to be rewarded for making a concrete contribution to your game experience through the Media Module. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the gestures yesterday, but I also like to be rewarded only when I have earned it.

Speaking of monetary rewards, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Klop123 for your kind and very generous gift! Your charity and deep care for those who play this game with you is a quality we could all stand to develop more deeply. Thank you again my friend, and it is my privilege to be able to count you as a friend in this game.

Now on to the bigger news.

I grew up in this game, during a time when the media was thriving and driving the experience in game. I counted myself among some of the best writers in the game. Names like Alias Vision, Adasko, Scorpius, Rigour6, Addy Lawrence, Tyler F. Durden, Oliver Mellors, and of course, the Masterclass himself, the great Plugson. Having grown up around these players, I was given the opportunity to learn from the best. This crowd later formed what would become the "Writers Guild of Canada" and invited me to join their ranks. For this reason, the Media has always been my first love in this game. And so it is, I am going to go "back to my roots" and focus my time and energy on providing eCanada with a media experience that harkens back to the "Golden Era" of Media. I would also ask that those who are still around, and were part of that Era, please join me in crafting articles that will add to the overall enjoyment of the game itself.

At its root, this game is about community. We come together from all over the world, to share an online/alternate reality experience. We develop and cast characters to represent or polarize who we are in Real Life. In this altered reality, we build our stories and develop craft our characters so richly, that they take on a life of their own. In my mind, my role in the media should serve to bring those stories to life and share them with the community at large. In the past, this was accomplished through writers who would "Interview" players, thus bringing their characters into the public space while sharing their story. In doing so, the characters became more than avatars and names…they became part of the social fabric of the game, and thus a more tightly knit part of the community at large.

It does not matter what role you play in the game, you have a story to tell, and I want to bring that story to life for you, and share it with your fellow players.

For that reason, I am making a public call to those who would like their story to be heard. Let me be your muse. Lets bring back the art of the interview, and add some depth to our characters.

Some of you will remember the days when we had the eCBC. It was a tool in which topics of interest were discussed, characters interviewed, and pundits weighed in.

I am excited to announce that today, I am bringing back the eCBC! It will be in those articles that interviews will be shared. I will be looking to bring back the glory of what was once a great outlet. Supplementing interviews with analysis, and the odd insertion of radio, I am hopeful that I can add a new dimension to your media and in game experience. As things develop, I will be looking for contributors, and will also be highlighting interesting articles as they come about.

Articles that are related to the eCBC, will be tagged as eCBC in the title line for your convenience.

As always, Government agencies are welcome to submit material of relevance as they see fit. Also, on the note of Government, I would ask that someone please PM me links to any government resources and news outlets so they can be included on a permanent basis in each article.

Its time for me to get back to what I did best in this game. With your help, I will work towards crafting a media presence that is both unique and world class.

All that is left is for you to step forward and allow me to share your story. Who's first?

Yours In National Unity,
