Què és eRepublik (i eEgipte) per a mi? - What does eRepublik mean to me?

eRepublik va ser un projecte que em va cridar l'atenció quan hi vaig entrar per primer cop, fa quatre anys. Ho va fer perquè aquest univers virtual que ens dóna ER suposa un infinit d'oportunitats de plantejar noves vies, destins inexplorats al món real.

Malgrat això, l'experiència ens demostra que, en el fons, molts han caigut aquí en les mateixes dinàmiques que a la vida real; fins i tot, alguns països han optat per treure el pitjor d'ells mateixos, com és el cas d'eEspanya, on les forces majoritàries (militars i polítiques) resulten presentar-se amb el model "preconstitucional" (que en són, de macos, els eufemismes!) de la bandera "rojigualda".

Els perills de caure en alguns dels nostres costums més odiosos, dels nostres instints més animals, sempre són allà. El veritable repte que se'ns planteja amb eRepublik és demostrar que podem ser millors. Que tenim la capacitat i la voluntat, i que sentim la necessitat, de construïr tots plegats una versió millor de nosaltres mateixos.

Arribem doncs a eEgipte. En aquest país ens plantegem aquest repte que us deia amb una particular força, perquè construïr tots plegats és complicat, molt complicat, si hi ha dues cultures tan diverses, la catalana i l'egípcia, intentant dominar l'Estat.

En aquest sentit, voldria només dir que és sempre possible entendre's, si es troba el discurs adequat; i que només es pot vèncer si s'aconsegueix convèncer. A Catalunya, a la nostra estimada (i per mi enyorada) Catalunya real, hem estat capaços d'arribar on som tot i haver estat històricament una terra de pas, i tenir a les nostres venes la sang de mil pobles distints. Per què no fer-ho també a eRepublik?

eRepublik was a project that seduced me from the first time I became a member of it, four years ago. It caught my eye because this virtual universe that ER provides us with means, among other things, endless ways to picture new ways and unexplored places in real life.

Nevertheless, experience shows that, in the end, many have fallen here into the same errors and vicious dynamics made in real life. some countries have even become the worst version of themselves: such is the case of Spain, country in which military and political forces which dominate the country shamelessly show as their banner that of the Spanish dictatorial Francoist regime (1936-197😎.

The threat of falling into those same mistakes and horrid habits, into the most animal of our instincts, is always there. The true challenge we are faced with in eRepublik is to show that we can be better. That we have the capability and firm will to, and that we need the necessity of, building together a better version of ourselves.

Here we are, thus, in eEgypt. We face here that challenge being particularly hard to accomplish, because building together is especially hard when two cultures such as the Catalan and the Egyptian are trying to coexist and dominate the eState.

In this sense, I'd like to just say that it is always possible to understand each other, if the right words are found. And the only way to achieve that is to convince. In Catalonia, our beloved (and missed, in my case) real-life Catalonia, we've been able to get to where are now despite the fact that our country's historically been a land crossed by many, and despite having the blood of a thousand peoples running though our veins. Why not do the same also in eRepublik?
