Promotions and Interview with VCJCS

Day 2,587, 09:43 Published in USA USA by vrpanch
Newest National Guard Officer

Howdy, I'm Clevin, the newest addition to the NG Officers family. Over the last two and a half years, I've done most of my time here as a PCO in the Mobile Infantry, where I made acquaintances, friends, and true bonds with those around me, many who have since left the eUS Mil or eRep entirely. Between increased coursework at my university and joining a fraternity, I ran out of time in my days and retired from my position to take on a more quiet life in the National Guard. Here, I've made new friendships and new bonds, with special mention to our new CJCS and ex-NG CO, jadiv. I'll certainly be looking forward to what the future brings: more battles to fight, more bonds to make, and best of all the new members with a curious sparkle in their eyes.

Lt Clevin
PCO of Mobile 2

Interview with Seeker1

1) You have been the CO for almost 2 years. How did the AB change during that time?

My goals were to create an even better environment for our players and to create a collegial command structure rather than a CO-based one.

The first was not difficult to achieve, AB has always been a close-knit community. The major task was not to interfere with that. Secondarily, with much help from Ruthain early on and vrpanch and Mashaka Kulala later, we created the AB quarterly intramural competition. Our soldiers seem to enjoy that.

At the suggestion of Mashaka Kulala and with help from vrpanch, we also created enlisted ranks to recognize achievements by our non-officers

We also reorganized the structure of the AB to make it more suited to a smaller membership that was the result of the general loss of players in the broader game.

Creating a collegial leadership, where all officers could influence decisions, required only asking others for their opinions and creating places where discussions about problems, proposed changes, and implementation of advisable changes could be discussed.

The innovations, some mentioned above, that came from this process were outstanding.

2) What was your favorite aspect of being CO of Airborne?

I especially liked interacting with our officer corps, my eyes and ears into the thoughts and feelings of our soldiers, to craft new ways of operating that kept the AB both efficient and a community people could enjoy participating in.

The community itself and my interactions with it were and are my favorite aspects of the AB itself.

3) What would you like to see in the future for Airborne and eUS military in general?

The eUS Mil is still a major source of damage for the eUS. I hope we can make that clear to others in the game. jadiv and the JCS are working on recruitment primarily of new players. That should help the eUS Mil maintain its numbers and eventually filter up to the AB.

I hope and expect that the AB can maintain sufficient numbers of members to continue its existence as an elite fighting force characterized and sustained by a special sense of community.

4) Now that you are retired, What are you going to do with all that free time?

The notion that I have “retired” from the AB or the eUS Mil is greatly exaggerated. I still coordinate the AB’s QM system. Jadiv has also appointed me Vice CJCS, with primary responsibility for managing our DO during the daytime.

So while I am enjoying less daily intensity, I am still active in the AB and the eUS Mil.

I have been able to spend more time focusing on my RL job, which to a large extent allows me to set my own tasks and schedule.

Here are some jokes to end this week’s article on a lighter side.
1. Just saw a pirated movie. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give a 3.14.
2. Did you know we have a predisposition for diarrhea? It runs in our jeans.
3. I accidentally gave my girlfriend a glue stick instead of chapstick. She’s still not talking to me. 🙁

If you have any reservations about joining the eUS Military I urge you to join now. Darcy's doll decided to not join and has regretted it ever since.

Please do not end up like darcy's doll; join the eUS Military now!
