DR. SUMMERLOVE OR: HOW I LEARNED TO BEAT THE SUMMER DOLDRUMS WITHOUT CONTRACTING ZIKA

Summer summer summertime
Time to sit back and unwind
Here it is, a groove slightly transformed
Just a bit of a break from the norm
Just a little somethin' to break the monotony…

Summer is a slow time in eRep.  Warm temps, water parks, road trips and family cookouts make for more appealing real life fun and thus less time stuck in a darkened room, in front of a computer clicking buttons on this busted Romanian browser game.

But that is about to change.  I’ve recently completed a (so-so) popular series on the top POWER PLAYERS in the eUS and now I bring another reason for you to ditch the suntan lotion and floaties in favor of dozens more hours wasted away at your keyboard.

On Monday, I will be announcing – in the latest issue of The X-Files – the ultimate eRep competition event.  Running concurrently with some Brazilian athletic thing going on this summer, I am proud to announce an even more polluted, less corrupt, equally disorganized collection of contests henceforth to be known as – the first XLYMPIC GAMES.

So who is eligible to GO FOR THE GOLD (and up to $20,000 cc in prize money) in the first XLYMPIC GAMES?  EVERYONE!

That’s right, I want every single eMerican (or anyone at all really) to compete in the upcoming XLYMPICS.  We’ll have events ranging from the eWorld’s premiere insult contest, SICK BURN , to bad ass graphic design challenges in DESIGN MY AVATAR and the ultimate test of swag – the 10CATHLON.  There’s also a poetry contest, knock down-drag out debate matches and, of course, humor infused Mad Libs.

So let’s all get together for the next three weeks and compete with each other for glory and profit! And also to ensure the game is still here in the fall for all those players that have temporarily abandoned the game in favor of wholesome theme park adventures and booze drenched pool parties.  I hate them all so much.

Who cares about those other losers having dumb RL summer fun?  Let’s get out there and GO FOR THE XLYMPIC GOLD and show them what they're missing!

Also to everyone reading this, since you are able to read, you must also be able to write - so write more stuff because I’m bored reading the same six articles over and over.  Thanks in advance.

Profoundest regards,
Hadrian X
President, Chairman & Lord Commander UXC (eUS XLympic Committee)

War News

"Nothing's really changed in Foreign Affairs. Everything has been a bit slow. There was some talk between UK's Foreign Minister and I about turning our war into a Training War, but those talks have stalled. It's just really slow."
~~ NSC Chairman Orikfrikai

The Lockheed P-38: The Ultimate Weapon

First conceived in 1937 by Lockheed chief engineer Hall L. Hibbard and his then assistant, Clarence “Kelly” Johnson, the twin-boomed P-38 was the most innovative plane of its day, combining speed with unheard-of advances: two supercharged engines and a potent mix of four 50-caliber machine guns and a 20-mm cannon.
Upon its official introduction in 1940, the P-38 was capable of climbing to 3,300 feet in a single minute and reaching 400 mph, 100 mph faster than any other fighter in the world. It also doubled as an intimidating long-range threat, capable of carrying a larger payload than early B-17s and boasting a range of 1,150 miles.
Its versatility and ruggedness were legendary. It could sink a ship.  Strafed enemies on the ground. Crippled tanks. Destroyed entrenched pillboxes and shot down numerous fighters and bombers in all theaters of war.
When a long-range battle-tested airplane was needed for the Allies’ first round-trip mission to Berlin, a modified P-38 was chosen. And in 1943, when code breakers learned of a key inspection flight in the Pacific by Japanese admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, architect of the attack on U. S. installations in Hawaii, sixteen P-38 pilots were dispatched to fly a five-leg, nearly 1,000 mile-long mission.
It proved to be a turning point in the war. After intercepting the admiral and his escort of Zero fighters, Japanese naval morale was crushed, and Allied morale soared. The intercept helped set the stage for an Allied victory in the Pacific.
