New Game Mechanics Proposal? Updated!

Day 3,013, 00:29 Published in USA USA by Stepenart

These are just some ideas I had and I'm not sure if someone has already proposed this to the developers, but I thought they would be cool ideas. Feel free to chime in.

Random events, like in the real world, happen when we least expect them too. So why not incorporate those into the game if possible. I was thinking events, like these:

Pandemics - causes a loss of productive and people in those areas can
illegally move out of those areas into other regions. Cost of goods would
rise in price for people in those areas. Could be spread if not dealt with.

Revolts/protests - like Arab Spring or other major social movements, random
regions may become volatile, with effects that hinder production or prohibit
movement in or out. Countries could put it out by force or by other means.

Global Market Scares - causes a reduction in wages and production, based on a
percentage scale in relation to how bad the crash is. Capitalism has boom and
bust periods, so the reverse could happen.

ISIS(or other terrorist-based events) - a random region is convert to a
hostile territory and nations have to take them back, or they will expand.

Climate mechanics - drought, tsunami or other weather related catastrophes
will hinder food production and randomly displace players living in the
region hit. (Updated) Not all climate mechanics are bad. There can be good
ones that increase productivity even further.

Nuclear meltdown - radioactive contamination will have adverse health effects
to players living, working or traveling through that region until it is
cleaned up.

Presidential Scandal - this is triggered for whom ever holds office when the
event happens. It would be like Bill Clinton, but you get a special
achievement once it's over and you survive impeachment.

Why not a nation creation mechanic? Not like how the developers have it where they introduce a real world nation ever so often. I mean like if I wanted to make the Texas Republic or the Nation of Assholes, I could if I meet the requirements to do so. And here are my current ideas on how to do that:

Formal declaration of independence - through the military unit, if they have
a leader with a high enough level, enough money and go through the mechanics
to do, so like a proposal to the game developers and it would take a week to
process, then they could launch a war to liberate a region and declare a new
nation. The war would last a week and who ever had the higher points at the
end of the week, would win. Of course, they could also be wiped off the face
of the Earth, so be careful.

Peaceful dissolution/vote - kind of like Czechoslovakia, East Timor or
Yugoslavia, a proposal could be past through that nation's congress and if
they win the majority vote, then they become a new nation after a week (to
give developers time to implement the change and allow people to move for
free). As part of the proposal process, the regions separated would be
selected and negotiated over. They would also select their currency, or
choose to keep the one they are using.

(Update) Another interesting mechanic suggested would be naval war mechanics. Use for war or maybe a naval blockade that helps an allied country's defense or cripple the economy of a hostile nation.

(Update) Vatican. Because why not? This way we can have a Vatican, minus the little boys.
