My Intention to Stand!

Since Huey George made the decision to stand down the whole political landscape had changed. Politics in the eUK has changed forever. AMD has continued our high level of Training Wars and enhanced the MoD rules. At present the eUK must get used to this new political landscape and with this in mind I am announcing that I am standing to be your next Country President.
I will be approaching all political parties seeking their support and opportunity to be included in their primaries. I will be in touch directly with Party Presidents today and would appreciate the opportunity to be included in all party primaries.
Who is MIK?
I am one of the most experienced players in the eUK having been here a long time. This month I am the Vice Country President (Domestics) and I served under Huey George as his Minister of Education and Minister of Communications totalling over 8 months service in his Cabinet.
I am a former Alliance Leader, Constitutional Dictator, six time Country President, have served in every Cabinet role and been the Speaker of Congress.
I have also been the Party President of Every Single One (ESO), The People's Unity Party (PUP) and The Unity Party (TUP). I have a track record of bringing many people together in many different parties.
Why MIK?
This article isn’t going to announce my plans, vision or cabinet, instead I want to explain the golden thread as to why I am standing. That is Community. We must be constructive. The time for silly squabbling, insults, slurs, blocking and abuse and reporting people to real life companies is over. What we must do now is build bridges. Let us be judged by how we come together as a nation.
In other words I am standing to bring our community together, whatever differences we might have had in the past, whatever party divides there used to be lets all put the past behind us and move forward together as a unified community. We must move forward not backwards, upwards not forwards and always twirling, twirling towards freedom.
How MIK?
How will I achieve this? My complete manifesto will be published later. But one sneak peak of the new united community approach I am taking will be the creation of a Cross Party Advisory Council. If elected as Country President this Council will be established with an in game message thread.
It will include members from every main party (and those in none) and be used to share ideas and opinions. I will use it to seek views and welcome comments on the Government, the eUK and how the presidency can drive imlrovements whilst representing everyone.
You could say if elected as Country President I will seek to unite the eUK like it has never been before!

Keith if I have ever done anything to offend you I’m always happy to publicly apologise for it. I have made that offer several times and you’ve never taken me up on it or pointed out anything specific.
Whatever is in the past we need to put it to one side and move forward together. Lets build bridges and work together.

Why is MIK speaking about himself from a 3rd person perspective ? Why is MIK bragging about being the most experienced player that eUK has ever seen ? Your stats are not that impressive and I personally don't really know your past. Also it seems you have been more focused on different eCountries, not eUK.
Cross Party Advisory Council ? Not sure what the actual role is .. Congress team votes at the end of the day no matter how many councils and threads are in the entire eUK. Is this just another fancy word for 'Gov Team' that will repesent your CP election ?
For an approx. 80 players active in eUK it is quite impossible to even try to 'unite' them all

Happy to address any comments in a private message if you have questions.
Regarding the Advisory Council I’m trying to build unity, of course everyone will have different ideas and that’s healthy and good. But the squabbling and silly arguing will hopefully be stopped. The Advisory Council will be much smaller than Congress and will have people who didn’t necessarily vote for me.
The idea is that even people who don’t support me and don’t vote for me deserve to be represented and have their voice heard. We won’t unite everyone, but I want to try to give everyone who has something to say an opportunity.
My term is all about building bridges.

I did asked some questions in my message but there were no answers in yours.
Also, how the Advisory Council will work by having people that haven't voted for you and are not supporting you ? Will you ignore the Congress team ? You can request a law, but you cannot control who's voting what.
The majority of eUK active players are already part of political parties and they vote their candidates - so their voice is heard through the party they represent. This feels like a deja-vu already!

A few people voice despair when Congress is very busy or full of messages that may not be relevant, I know you've felt that way at times. I don't think it's a bad idea to set up focus groups or 'councils' to get a rounder sense of how people feel about issues or what ideas they've got, and I doubt very much it means Congress get ignored. Just a smaller group that people can contribute in easier and without being dragged into meta arguments.
