Let The Sunshine In
Thedillpickl
Hi kids!
Ya know, I've rethought my position about govt. secrecy. After rereading what Jason has said and the many fine comments I believe the people should know what's going on and be given a voice.
My Proposal
TO WIT, I HEARBY ENDORSE THE FOLLOWING:
All govt. communications shall be only allowed on public forums, open IRC channels and that any PM's between govt. officials MUST be screen captured and posted in the eUSA forum for all to read. Further that any planning involving treasury, taxes, defense spending, USAF, war plans & strategy, NE's, MPP's, NAP's or any other means by which the govt. manipulates the economy, military communes & supply, foreign affairs of all types or game play in any other manner shall be listed and posted daily in the WHPR or similar instrument.
Also, it shall be mandatory for ANY button clicking by the Exec or Congress shall be done only after the item in question has been put to a popular vote of the people. If the Exec is approached by a foreign agent the PM, IRC log or what other means is used shall be screen captured and made public for all to see and decided upon. The Exec shall be prohibited from responding until a decision has been agreed upon, other than to tell the foreign agent that the Exec will get back to them.
Further, it shall be mandatory for all communication, conversations, documents, strategy or any other plans by the govt. be archived on the eUSA forum so as to provide open access to any & all. This is similar to the Sunshine Act in RL. (i.e. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_in_the_Sunshine_Act ) Of course to achieve total transparency and openness, not to mention fully giving the people a voice, the 10 exceptions to the RL Sunshine Act will not be included in our little game.
😃
Disclaimer
Just so everyone knows where I stand... I removed myself from the Congress elections yesterday. I will no longer be seeking to serve there. I will fulfill my responsibilities to the Fingerguns administration as DCoS until her term is expired. I will no longer participate in party politics and do not wish to join your party.
The name change to "Squitious Maximus" is mandatory until day 1,974. I will then change it back to "Thedillpickl" to avoid any further confusion. It was a moderately funny joke that has ran it's course and I'm done with that bit of fun also.
Thanks to my many friends I've made playing around. You have been quite enjoyable. I will still be around the MU and on our IRC channel but will refrain from anything politically related. I'm done with that part of this BS.

Sarcastic wit is dry.
Will you share what triggered this momentousness shift in your eLife?
dilly come play some yahtzee with me.
Will you share what soured you on political eLife?
Nooooo! How could you... SQRT like that?
@Candor, this has been coming for awhile. I'm tired, simple as that. Not trying to be insensitive, but when people like Jason make statements like he did and people blindly jump on the bandwagon I take offense. I said pretty much the same thing about the CTRL issue and though some saw my point there were a great many who as much as told me I was an idiot. Now we have a PotUS candidate who is making accusations about the govt. holding back information and doing things behind the peoples backs. All the while he is a member of that govt as a Congressman. Then he has the audacity to waffle and say that it's not like that at all, he just thinks that a little more openness is needed. I ask which is it? I'm all for openness but not at the expense of national security. (Hence my rather severe sarcasm above.) There is no way you can read his article, having a functioning brain cell, and not see it for what it is, grandstanding.
I'll repeat myself again for clarity. CTRL involved few people in one administration making a NAP and forming an alliance. That is, IMO, subverting the will of the people. The trial membership in CoT is a well thought out plan to get us some allies and have fun fighting some wars. It was conceived over multiple administrations. When something that was more firm that negotiations was available the plan was brought before Congress for discussion. Items were ironed out and agreed upon. Finally, with a trial membership in hand, the administration took the CoT plan to the people for their consideration. If this doesn't work out we simply walk away. I simply do not see a comparison between the two.
@Bia, /me grabs loaded dice and heads to your house.
Who the heck is Jason? He an Argonut or sumthin'?
Te he, I thought you said arrogant before I put on my glasses.
Jason Statham Jr, evidently our next CP.
Me/ gives Dill, a beer.
Sunshine..., and lolli-pops
Good luck with this cute idea, they play for their sekrit alternative game.... ummmmMMM, what is it called; meta-game?
Well this really sux! I have enjoyed reading your articles and comments concerning congress. Your voice is a stable source of information. You also have the talent of writing good humor and can be quite funny. You will be missed.
Good man.
Hands pickl a box of Milk Duds. Your life will be much more stress free without politics.
You're welcome to share my corner.
Wasn't the whole idea of COT to help us during "Our" sleep time ??
Where the fuck is everyone?
Joining CoT hasn't seemed to have done American any good...so where were our new allies?
Disaster in Asia!, hell we can't even win against Taiwan...:{(>
This has been just another failure by the 'Fanatic Flufferist Faction', who have been unrinating down their leg for almost 2 years....
You've been leaving forever now, but erep is probably the highlight of your lonely life so I bet you'll stick around.
Also, joining an alliance is pretty big deal and it is normal to ask the people if they wish to be in it.
Especially since the eUSA is currently under the "Unity" dictatorship and all of the important decisions are made by 1+10ish people. The people who ask questions and don't act like the minions are attacked by the minions, such as yourself Pickl.
This article is all about it.
Irony aside I respect that your frustration with the entire political module has driven you to this though the discourse at a national level advocated by Jason can only benefit the community through increased activity irrespective of any policy enacted after national debate.
@Citizen-comrade Norbengo: re remark about "the highlight of your lonely life", I am guessing that "it takes one to know one", amirite? 🙂
~pickle is amused by people's remarks~
it is funny how some like to try and drive even more away...
Norbengo
Day 1,895, 04:36 "You've been leaving forever now, but erep is probably the highlight of your lonely life so I bet you'll stick around."
and the winners are the forum dwellers, but just what will you all ruin next?
George, it's a funny thing. Because I don't like him Norbengo keeps insisting that I'm leaving the game. I consider the source and move on. BTW, he is a lousy troll, absolutely no fun whatsoever. Don't waste your time on him.

Don't let the SQRT perish! Humor is all we have left in this game. As for the name, you'll always be the "DP" guy to me - Now you can be the S&M guy as well.
And, really, what goes better with DP than a little S&M?
Seems my humor has dried up this morning. I'm supposed to test the new map that took a dozen downloads to get the homepage to work. eRep is pushing dial-up users to the limit. They can't keep f'ing piling more code and more code on just because it looks 'cool'. It takes me 3 or 4 tries to get a page up so I can work my companies and then I have to reload the game because after I work, train, etc. it comes up to a blank page. I'm sick of 404 errors and server time outs.
Just so you know, I can't afford what it will cost to get high speed connection where I'm at. DSL stops a mile from my house and it is $40 USD, that is about the limit for my budget. My dial-up (which by the way works fine for everything else I do on-line other than YouTube and News feeds which I don't care that much about) works just fine for forums, e-mail and a couple other browser games I frequent. It only costs me $10 per month. That leaves a bit in my entertainment budget to maybe buy a little eRep gold.
Expect an article later today.
Oh!
IRL, the Sunshine Law is a joke. Punishment for non-compliance can be up to $100 (in my state) - not worth the cost of enforcing it.
That's why we need it here Dell!
In eRep, the land that does everything bass ackwards.
Join Candor in world domination and pants!
I've loved having you in my cabinet, dill.
If you wanted to pursue this, I think you absolutely could.
