Here We Go
James Strife
So here I go for my first article… I got into this game by a buddy of mine at school and I am absolutely in awe of all of the possibilities that are presented in the game. I have particularly taken a keen interest in the level of control you can use to influence your nation, the economy, the geography of eRepublik and even the people you get to coexist with.
But first, my beginnings… I first joined intrigued by the simplicity of the game or better known as “two clicking”. A game where you could progress with minimal effort seemed like my kind of game a few weeks ago when I was bogged down with crazy English reports. I got a job and realized that I my wellness was getting into the 20s… Low and behold to find out that I had a Q2 job. I researched the whole wellness stat on the wonderful and insightful wiki page and quickly resigned and got a Q1 job.
I’ve been continually excited about the wide range of possibilities available in this game, and I rapidly found myself financially stable and helping friends with the game. One of things that helped me the most was the very convenient and direct advice for the new citizens of eUSA, the Welcome Message. The Welcome Message includes the MoW (Meals on Wheels) program headed up by AidenAstrup and his very productive assistant SirEkim, the forums for the gift exchange, and several other programs that helped me to get immersed in the great community of the eUSA.
MoW, in particular, has helped me around the noob block to the point that I now can actually donate back into MoW to replace the food they so graciously gave me in my earlier days. MoW provided food that allowed me to shift my expenditures towards moving to New Jersey so I could gain more experience quicker and help some of my other buddies by passing them some extra money or food of my own.
I started talking to scrabman in my earlier days and he linked me to some articles and some wikipages that I found strikingly helpful. And I shall pass them on to help others who are new and upcoming.

Excellent work James. Getting new people to stay active in this game will help this country greatly. This is more evidence that Meals on Wheels is a valuable program.
Nice Article!
Good job!

SO much to learn in this game.. mercy can I relate to your story, lol.
Woot! I got mentioned!
Sure did 🙂 A lot of the article was about MoW after all.
Nice article bro.
Good article, hope you have a long and fun time with the USWP!
Voted and Subcribed.
Nice one
you had me right up till you said a proud member of USWP...why them might I ask?
Why the USWP you ask? When I first started I was supported financially by MoW with 4 days of food which with the citizen fee is more than enough to support you so that you can start making money while you have lower paying jobs. Also, I (like a noob) messaged some people namely Ananias and scrab and asked a few questions and they pointed me in the right direction quite a few times. For that I pay them my respect.
@ Doolin: I can appreciate that the USWP is not too popular, but James articulated his reasons for joining pretty well, I think.
There's this vague perception floating around that we're trying to gobble up everyone into some sort of ideological monster. We're actually just a friendly bunch of guys and gals playing a browser game. 🙂
Yeah, right said Cerb. Plus, why do people freak out when the USWP implements POLITICAL programs? As a POLITICAL PARTY, with members interested in the politics of eRep, why is this such a shock?
Competition is good, remember?
I don't care that he joined USWP..my question was meant to ask did he research any other parties...like I did..they all have their value...
but of course USWP takes it personal when someone asks an honest question. He mentioned he only talked to Ananias and Scrab...that limits your input of ideas.
Flame on again.
Yes, I only mentioned talking to Ananias and Scrab... I did fail to mention my chats with Jay, SirEkim, Harrison, Aiden, Cerb, Tarik and Zcia so you cannot say that my input of ideas are limited.
Doolin, your comment warranted the response it got.
'but of course the USWP takes it personal...' PFFFT
sure, I may be a little biased, but my podcast is clearly the most important tool for new players

If you miss a single thing in your first 7 days, you didn't listen well enough. 🙂
