Why mercs and not just ordinary soldier groups, which are handled out weapons through #ONE or TSM?

You speak dearly of just mercs, 'pay them to fight for you so they don't fight against you' well, they will fight against you tomorrow when your pockets are empty.

I have seen so many countries with great history spend their last gold on mercs in this game, lets not add eSweden to that list also.

Perhaps we are talking about the same thing, just using different words. I'm all for having weapons and food handled out to those who fight for us. I'm just not keen on giving it to those who would fight against us the day after.

I prefer to be with a girl who loves me, not someone who loves my money.

Arm those who will fight for us when it matters. Not all campaigns can be fought looking towards tomorrow.

I would be totally open to making govt supplies and funding open to all soldiers of sweden. Like my mom told me baby steps.

I agree completely. Hell, everyone is doing this now. I get links to tanksupplying channels on a daily basis. It would be a strong move for eSweden to accept this secondary horsepower and to make it a part of eSwedens defence. Once it cracks we'll have more soldiers to put in when the rest is deplited.

I can't really see the problem with this as you Misho. Gold would be a different story, but this is about tanks. And eSweden owns a few Q6 companies. Let us make em a bigger part of the military.

Caelo and Rylde, I think we are on the same side here - just using different words for it.

You know I have been away from army leadership for quite some time but as far as I'm concerned eSwedish army has always paid others to fight for us. With others I mean other players or group of players that are pro-Swedish, pro-ONE and similar.

If we change perspective, creating a merc group which fight for whomever pays the most has never been a success in this game. Look at Seal Team 6, Grom and so on. They have all taken side, and that is for two reasons:

1. Its more likable that you will receive funds if you stand by one side.
2. Its more likable that your group will continue to grow if you stand by one side, players have loyalties and some will refuse to fight against Croatia, some against Norway and others against Sweden.

Darn we had this system in ATLANTIS three years ago, what has really changed more than the names? We paid groups back then, countries founded us to tank with thousands of golds and ridiculous numbers of weapons.

You can develop and arm Mu's to fight for your nation. All were saying is in emergency situations when we need an extra hammer have tanks in reserve to arm fighters who are not loyal to use but can turn the tide of a battle.

I agree that in some fights you might need a sledgehammer to finish the job. This should be an absolute last resort but an ability to use quickly if we're about to lose core regions. Rather pay out a few tanks than losing a region.

But to avoid this I think we should arm our nation in first hand and make them able to fight off the big bad wolves that attack us. Maybe get all the strong people in eSweden into an MU that fight for the same goal. An MU that has the ability to shoot out the power against more than one target at once if needed. An MU that is financed by the government to be able to out tank the opponents. We are a wealthy country, one of the wealthiest, lets use that for our advantage and arm our top players that can make a great difference.

Just my opinion about this.

In January we started out by organizing supply channels on both Rizon and Quakenet. Up until then the military had been paying out SEK (en masse) for hits, which had drained the entire bank and left us bankrupt. If you aim on doing something similar you will soon find that most Swedes are reluctant (or simply too lazy) to go to a channel and post a link + number of FF. Instead, they're used of getting cash for their hits through forum orders. We've also tried form fill orders, but they didn't work very well either. By popular demand the TSM is back to forum orders.

Now, I'm not saying that forum orders is the end of the world. It's just a very expensive and less effective system and no serious fighting power in the eWorld makes use of it anymore, while almost every country use at least one IRC channel for handing out supplies. For important battles you're likely to find plenty of channels.

While on the subject: supplies has changed from food and weapons to only involve Q6 tanks. Every soldier is expected to be self-sufficient on food these days. What boggles me is why there are alliances in this game since most allied soldiers only fight where they get paid, and those who pay the most will receive their damage. I don't see much difference between that kind of mentality and "mercs", even though I agree with Misho. I'm just taking it one step further. When not even your own soldiers will fight for their core regions it kind of says something about how little they care about this game.

Anyway: Sweden has a few factories with a potential of producing 400 Q6 (base production) per day. Even if there's a need to buy tanks from the market, they're so cheap right now that the tax revenues would make it sustainable.

To pay money for orders is extremely ineffective and just a politician's way of buying popularity votes. Use that money to buy tanks instead and hand them out to those who fight.

With the daily donation limit from the treasury soon raise from 100k to 400k, it will give more flexibility to govt. to paid those mercenary supply, while not affecting too much the current daily budget allowed for MU.

eCanada should supply mercenary IMO, but maybe we are to scare to get stolen once again.

As i understand it, it is not to pay eSwedes to fight for eSweden. But to pay for foreign aid with tanks that will most likely just lie there and rot since forum-orders aren't that popular. An extra set of muscles quite simply.

Keep forum-orders to eSwedes. But launch and publish an IRC-channel where the govt may request foreign aid in exchange for tanks when things looks shity. Just as a backup plan when the eSwedes are out of fights.
