Floyd-19
Frodo Tea Baggins
Hate me yet, good let's continue.
Somebody was an idiot, he was a police officer. Not the first this happens over and over. Happens all the time, but it always goes out of proportion when it comes to ethinicity. Black lives Matter, yes they do.
Overreaction however is not the answer. I mean seriously, abolish the police dept? Take all there funds and use them for social services? Who comes up with this shit?
When the local white guy crack addict holds up the pharmacy who's gonna catch him (happened here).
Because of profiling? Sure there's no black street gangs, no italian mafia, no russian mafia, no islam terrorists, no biker gangs(mostly white), etc.
Pull your heads out of your asses. Anarchy without police? I hate them as much as you but there you go.
Hate messages follow,
Dio Buttercup

not funny
"The funniest things I've seen from these bozos so far:
1. Pleas for food "after homeless people took ours".
2. The fact that the VERY FIRST THING they did upon declaring their territory is to put up a fence and start controlling immigration.
3. The warning that anyone who might try to create their own Autonomous Zone within the larger Autonomous Zone should stop it. Or else."

buahuahua what a clown
Go lick boots somewhere else.
not sure if trolling or stupid
It looks pretty stupid tbh, probably not mutually exclusive though.
not trolling, draw your own opinion
All cops are b******s
Get this trash off our country media. Abolish the pigs.
Read some history.
says a guy with an oxymoron "Socialist Freedom" in his profile indicating he never read any historical books
also
-never lived in any socialist country
-has no intention of moving to one
-wouldn't survive in one
"Socialism looks great in theory but in practise, the US will wreck your economy in a siege warfare."
I was in Denmark a few times. Nice country, Socialism works great for them.
Other than that, everyone in the GDR had all their economical needs fullfilled. Everyone had a home and the agriculture was so efficient, they had the highest meat consumption worldwide at some point. Surviving in the GDR was easy mode. Sure, they were lacking a few things like Cars due to militarism and imported goods due to trade blockades and protectionism.
When you cherrypick countries of the "free" world, like the USA, UK, West Germany and ignore all the poor African, South American, Middle eastern, Asian countries being exploited for their resources making the economical success of the former possible, capitalism seems pretty nice. For some, not for all of course.
Also now since the cold war ended, capitalism shows its true face now that there isn't a competition between two systems over which one can provide a higher living standard for the masses.
Tax cuts for the rich, welfare cuts for the poor, higher livehold costs for the middle class while wages are stagnating. Not the voters but the corporations are making the laws. In 20 years you'll be begging for the living standard of the common people in the Warsaw Pact.
@Marcel you and I both know this guy hasn’t even read a single line of socialist/communist theory no point in arguing with em. Good points though o/
Denmark is NOT a socialist country. Having high taxes to support a welfare state does NOT make you socialist. They are capitalists.
Socialism is government run industry, which always leads to disaster and poverty.
@RGR If the definition of Socialism is "Government run Industry", then explain the difference between Socialism & Communism to me.
It’s pretty clear from your description of socialism that you don’t actually know what it really is ajay. It’s like you’ve never even read a book in your life
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
A huge percentage of my clients are economists and think tanks.
What someone Like You is Mr. So called pimp is a radical leftist. That is the definition of socialism. Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc are all capitalist countries. And if you ask them if they are capitalists they will tell you yes.
you need to read a book and while you're at it maybe get a basic education in economics. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
The difference is quite significant Marcel. Socialism doesn't mean no private property and absolute equality in theory .
If you say so, neocon. You read wikipedia for a couple of minutes, now you’re an expert. Lol
I viewed the difference as socialism highlighting government control whereas communism highlighted government ownership.
https://prnt.sc/szdhgu (this is from another extreme right-wing website, naturally)
I like the constant projections "read some history", "you never ready anything in your life" then followed by absolute non-factual, non-historical nonsense.
"Other than that, everyone in the GDR had all their economical needs fullfilled."
Yes and everyone who believed it was possible, fled Western Germany (and other more or less capitalist states) and risked their lives trying to get to GDR, crossing minefields and avoiding machine gun fire and barbed-wire fences, getting shot on sight and hoping their families won't suffer any forms of sippenhaft 😃
I feel for regular, normal people, but on the other hand I'm hoping muppets like yourselves will experience socialism in all its glory.
I agree that abolishing the police is crazy. I tried asking someone what they would do with murderers, robbers etc. with no police to catch said bad guys, and they didn't even bother answering why. Sure, more should be done to prevent them from becoming criminals in the first place, but there are people that just can't function in society. People that WILL make the world a worse place if they aren't behind bars. We don't live in a utopia; there will always be people you can't stop from turning into villains. With no police, such people can probably do whatever they want, which means the rest of will suffer.
Instead, I think US police officers should become more "human". In my country, they come off as human enforcers of the law, not just enforcers. Police officers shooting is so rare here that it comes on the news every time it happens; and that is incredibly rare. The police always tries to handle things calmly here instead of using violence. The US police should become like that; not just resorting to violence when other options are available. Floyd may not have been shot, but the police officers certainly weren't human, even if they looked like it. They were too needlessly violent to be called human.
Should have wrote the article yourself. The answer is better vetting and review.
If you cannot see the problem you start to talk about some restorations. Let's be frank. Even if it's wrong to demand such things, we're talking about a country where these people were not seen more than an animal and not a century ago. Your thoughts showed that you didn't really care about all the components of the American society. I can explain it from my view but it will go for nothing. When you perceive the ''state'' notion untouchable nothing left to say.
see that's the real problem. perception is the real issue. there is a problem. the backlash is worse than the problem. the problem is compounded. the reaction becomes overcompensated. the problem continues.
It's not about abolishing the police. It's about rebuilding a police force that is not militarized and much less hostile and without a defensive posture against those they're sworn to protect.
What happened with the Camden, NJ, police force is a model. Note, it involves overcoming the resistance of police unions. https://www.nj.com/news/2020/06/what-does-it-mean-to-defund-the-police-one-nj-city-could-be-a-model-for-national-reform.html
This whole article and the comments are an overreaction. Calm down.

Tony Timpa?
In fact, I bet you never even heard of the guy.
Tell your friends all about him.
You wanna see some real BS, not this white/ black thing but real, at best, negligent homicide by police?
(Caution: will remind you of another video that's been in the news lately)

Shorter, more explanatory version here.

It's all about people/ media/ politics, trying to spin you to get
attention for whatever their views are or how they make money or should be "in power".
Whenever I hear it's a racial thing, I ask why hasn't the media
or anybody, talked about Tony Timpa.
Nail on the head, is there a problem, sure. Not the days news. A thousand innocent store owners get burnt out and looted, but it's about spinning the right cause.
If I was going to draw conclusions from all of this, I would recommend this. All police should wear body cams, the tech is fairly cheap. Second it could speed up the court process, actual live footage is the best witness. Your backlash is the court savings pay for the the actual cam costs. It's like a win win.
I've been saying the same for years.
Operation & "always on" cam should be required for any on duty police.
It should be required just like a uniform or lights on a car to pull you over.
No cam, not a cop.
The airline pilots fought against FDR's now the are a required safety instrument.
Nixon put an "always on" recording system in the oval office, kinds screwed himself but still did it.
Airline pilots have it. Why is it not required equipment for people who have the ability to kill other people.
"Cam not working" is unacceptable. Your cam don't work, you don't get to play cop that day.
They say, "but the cost". You can give them new cars every few years. You can pay for an entire court system, a computer and radio system in every car. Yea, I think you can afford a working cam for every officer. If you can afford a cell phone, you can afford a cam system.
