eUSA not wiped, still max Taxes
Elanaconda
The Work Tax in eUSA has been maxed out.
During the last week our territory was under attack. Till now no panic needed since we had a healthy reserve ( I cannot mention numbers here cause those are confidential and I am a sitting member of Congress). Until one week later, our executive, who was given a nice chunk of money to set COs during key battles got a little over enthusiastic in spending that money. It was gone before the invasion of our homeland really got started.
Now the panic kicked in among several Congress Parties. First came a rise in Work Tax to 18%, which already is twice the amount any other free country has in this game. Couple of days later it seemed Congress turned into a place with just insane people. There was a discussion about going for max taxes, yes you read that correct, max taxes!! The max taxes were voted in as soon as they could, thats what panic does. So the thing you do first thing when you conquer a country in this game, max the taxes so you can EXPLOIT the people for your own good.
Exactly that is now happening in our country, the people are being exploited by their own government with max taxes, and even for me as Congressman its not fully clear where all the money end up.
Regards,
Elanaconda

The majority of leader in this country hate you the players. As long as they remain in control then we're living in a dying nation. Killed by those who call the shots.

Just look at the numbers . With 15% taxes we had a tx revenue of about 180k . for the first 2 days wit a 25 % tax rate we are at about 194k . This means that for a tax increase of 66% (15% to 25😵 we had in increase of tax revenue of about -/- 15 k or +/- 8% ! So on a monthly basis our warchest will increase by
450K compared to the old tax rate. Does that figure really warrent to alienate a malority of our players ?
I know that we had the increase only for 2 days so the numbers may change. But keep on eye on them because I guess they won't change that much in the near future.

if anything that income will be dropping as people get pissed off and say fuck this ... look how little several other countries tax , hell even Greece who is also at war and helped us in this war charges 5% or 20% less ... I suppose im just not sure why we somehow need so much more money than everyone else unless the people we have in charge are just massively wasteful or not good at the job. Its not like we were hurting before the war so how did we blow through all our money to be so desperate.
They were blowing through that "Defensive reserve" like it was candy each and every month. Hell we've been paying for a MU to defend the nation for 4 years and they couldn't defend their way out of a wet cardboard box after all this time and taxpayer funds.
That's because many have moved or stopped working, I personally haven't worked in 3 days now. Doesn't take a genius to understand that 4 paying 10% is worth more than 1 paying 25% yet they just don't seem to get it.
For the record, our average at 15% is 150k. We've been up at 180k due to increased production and market activity due to the war. The weekend is also a low activity time period, accounting for less market activity.
We should hopefully see tax revenue between $210k and $230k by the time it normalizes during the week, assuming some of the high producing folks have left for a better tax rate.
Nice article
Good read.
Y'all need to send your companies to Poland, Iran, Serbia, Romania, Greece or hell even the UK has some resources. 😉
i've heard our exec is petitioning pluto to make work-taxes beyond 25% possible
they say it's gonna fix the economy
psh 99% tax is only step one , they also demand pluto let them nationalize all the companies
We pay, they play. No more.
It was never about the wipe. It's about refilling our reserve at a faster rate than we would have otherwise.
Reserve wouldn't need refilled had it been left alone and used as it was voted to be a Reserve back when you guys raised taxes to 15%. Nope, spend it as you get it and screw the rest of us!
Your party was voting to spend it, too, you know.
My party has been trying like hell to compromise with the rest of you in order to get the taxes lowered and I didn't vote for any of your spending, check the records!
"Your party was voting to spend it, too, you know."
so.. it's okay to do it once you convince others to do it, too.
He's complaining about spending that members of his own party were supporting. This isn't the "meta lords wasting all our money!" It's Congress voting for wars that cost money and provided True Patriot medals and Combat Order payouts. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
We never supported the wasteful spending. Do not lie DMJ! We didn't vote down the monthly budget just because we were trying to play nice with the rest of you but we questioned the spending and never supported wasting that reserve like you guys have been doing. Never once!
Indonesia wasn't part of that "wasteful" spending? http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,38071.0.html See your brothers in black voting for spending?

Are you retarded?
You're not the only Sheep, man. Some of your comrades voted yes.
the tax hike was sold to us as an emergency measure against the impending wipe.
if "It was never about the wipe. It's about refilling our reserve at a faster rate than we would have otherwise," then we were sold a complete and baldfaced lie.
Our next Speaker of the House, ladies and gentlemen.
I can't control how you felt it was sold to you, but that was never the argument I made. Please provide where that argument was made.
see the Proposal to Raise the Work Tax to 25%, and all the Discussion that led up to that.
18% wasn't enough, we were going to be wiped, we needed to collect as much funds as possible before we lost too many regions and would have to go to 1%..
none of that, not even the original hike to 18%, was sold as being about the reserves. it was always about the immediate need for the great big Invasion that never happened.
Read my original post when I opened the thread, Custer. "This is turning into an expensive war. It seems prudent to replenish the funds being spent more quickly than they would be at the current tax rate. " No mention of a wipe whatsoever. Your inability to comprehend is not the same as my misleading you. I was very clear about my reasoning, none of which was because of the chance of a wipe. Thanks for playing, though.
thanks for condescending to me, oh, great master of all political manipulation and personal degradation.
as you very well know the Still Ongoing Discussion thread rambles on for.. now eight pages. I'm not going in there to play quote for quote games with you or anyone else.
so I will remind you, my esteemed colleague, that the Proposal which I posted, which is screenshotted in my own article, clearly reflects the tone and intent laid out in both that Public thread and another in Private.
The Proposal was specifically phrased to provide funds for the immediate need, as outlined by the Experts, that would be limited to The War-- and specifically made no mention of post-war rebuilding of the Reserves.
I didn't make that shit up. I wrote it as I and most other Congressmen understood it-- and with broad support based on that common understanding.
you can spin this any way you like, sir, but the fact remains that we are now suffering a Tax that was sold to us on a different pretense than that which is now being so vehemently defended.
Then open a new proposal to reduce them based on that argument. The majority of Congress wants a higher tax for the reasons original used to increase them to 18%. Don't accuse us of misleading you with a thread that YOU posted.
you gotta be kidding me.
everything I put into that Proposal was pulled straight from the adjoining Discussion thread. you talk like I just made that shit up.
as to why I'm not rushing in there to start another Discussion-Proposal set about a Tax reduction? dude.. the blood on your knife isn't even cold yet. as i suggested in the Discussion thread, while we were playing with alternate terms for the acronym TBA, we might let this rest a little bit and THINK about things before rushing back into another heated battle.
but if you're so hot on the 25% being overkill now that there's no imminent Invasion, why don't you trot your vastly greater experienced self on in there and start things toward a mere 18% tax, yourself?
hey, you could be the hero in all this if you spin it right.
I chose 18 as a compromise. I support a fast injection of funds to the reserve by using 25% as we are now.
you wanna do this right here and now?
okay, then.. let's agree to lowering the Work Tax to 18% as a compromise.
I'm going to suggest, further, that there be no more COs funded out of the Reserve until it reaches and exceeds the amount it was at.. for ease of context and not revealing Private stuff.. the day before we NE'd Bulgaria in-game (fired the first shot, so to speak), I put that at Dec. 24.
this way, we pay back the spent Reserves of the War at 18%, without spending the reserves while at the same rebuilding them.
we'll have a few days of "fast injection," as you say, while the Discussion and Proposal run.. a fast injection is a few days, not protracted months of 25%.

"It was never about the wipe. It's about refilling our reserve at a faster rate than we would have otherwise."
Nah...its to give the CC back to the countries from which you borrowed crazy amount of CC. Cause you spent everything from your reserve for 3days..
Cut funding to the USAF -which can't do the job anyway- and we save 320000 CC per month, all of which could then be added to the reserve, about time the 'Meta Government' tighten their belt instead of demanding its citizens do so....
[nonak4CP] because f@ck it.

There is a lot of screaming about the 25% because people don't understand it somehow. Your opinion is not worthy of being heard if you don't bother to educate yourself on the subject.
4 paying 10% is worth more than 1 paying 25%. Your opinion is completely not worthy of being heard while being that dumb!
Yeah, because you counted the amount of taxpayers and deduced with great skill that we had a 75% drop in people working.
Even if so would that be a scare tactic that the non-working people cannot keep up.
