It's good to be back after a weekend off (with a sore foot)!
Catching up on the news on the last few days, it seems there's various stories arguing back and forward about who we are having a training war with and who we should be MPPing with.
I've read two things that the DocterDry government will be doing that I disagree with.
1) Training War with New Zealand
2) Reaching out to new (possible) allies like Russia
We could be about to engage with New Zealand in a training war and I don't believe this is a wise move.
The only benefits for us, is that we will gain some extra strength threw the NE... but besides that... nothing else.
At the same time, we waste our fighting power helping skill up a neutral country that will not officially come to our aid.
Anyone with a half-an-idea will tell you it's better to focus ALL TROOPS on real wars involving our current allies.
OK, we don't get that NE bonus, BUT we create a good reputation amongst our allies, plus the more we are seen fighting for our allies, the better chances we have of them fighting for us.

I see that DocterDry wants to reach out to new allies.
On the surface it doesn't sound like a bad idea... but look deeper and you'll find a problem.
Are we being good enough friends to our CURRENT allies?
I've heard pre-election talk about relations with NZ and post-election talks about Russia...but what about the USA and China?
I read in the press that in the original budget they were not included and DD had to add them in.
I look to our government and say Don't make new friends yet - first you must EDUCATE our population about our CURRENT ALLIES and how we can make friends with them (IRC and their Forums), plus how we can fight for them.
Ask yourself this... would the average noob be able to tell you who we are allies with and should be passionately fighting for?
Now ask yourself... when was the last time you fought for China?
China is an ally of ours under-attack from Serbia.
Why waste your time for the NE bonus in a MEANS NOTHING TRAINING WAR with the kiwis, when we could be flying the flag to help our Chinese friends?
Like I said, that fight might not get us the NE bonus, but might supply us with something MORE VALUABLE.
That is, when they see us tanking for them, hanging out on their forums, commenting on their newspapers and making friends... they will respect us and want to do the same for us.
SO.... when that day comes that we want to TAKE OUR LAND BACK from Indonesia... China will be the perfect friend to have on-board.
Not only can they help in RWs... for those that remember, China DID BEAT Indonesia in several battles on Indo home soil and could prove a TACTICAL BONUS that we have never had the chance to exploit before.
In the end, I hope to read more from the DocterDry Government that informs us what our current allies are up to, plus valuable education articles for our noobs, rather than just articles of "self-promotion".
I remember China... do you Prime Minister?
Promoting an ally is more than just simply saying "fight here".

Exactly.
So instead of reading what the government has to say, you read the information from other people who have it wrong.
Chinas MPP with us was originally left out of the budget because i thought the MPP expired after the next CP election. When told it wasn't, i instantly changed the budget and included theme.
China is our biggest and strongest friend and ally.

We will never take back our land from Indonesia, it's impossible, literally. Until the admins change the games rules we won't get our land back. Even if we had the backing of EVERY single EDEN/TERRA country and 5000000 gold, it would still be impossible. Nothing beats multi armies.

You obviously haven't read my PM update article where i linked to an education article and talked about upcoming ones.
It depends on how the TW will run I guess. If both sides are going to play by the rule, and not trying to cheat the other side, it probably can work without wasting too much damage on it.
But they are ONE's ally, and have much stronger MPPs then us (ours are preoccupied themselves), the TW may turn into one that we constantly have to tank to defend ourselves.

May I ask what the PM's alternative policy is then? I understand that broadly speaking in Aus we have dove vs. hawk camps, I have heard what hawks like Wally rationalise I would like to hear something from the other camp.

Former Prime Ministers reached out to potential allies all the time. What you'll find as the main difference between these efforts and those of Prime Minister DocterDry is that he's being upfront with the eAustralian people and keeping them informed what's on the table. The idea of even dropping a line to eAussies and saying "Sup .. here's what's going on.."didn't even cross the minds of former execs.
NE bonuses are crucial to newer players and eAus is in desperate need of new blood that wants to make a genuine go of it. The issue for eAus comes down to three little words .. ON THE MAP.
Indeed, on the map we're neighboured with eIndo to the north and eNZ to the east. Given the fresh peace with eIndo and the necessity to maintain that at all costs it's a no brainer not to engage in a TW with them. The Prime Minister and the eNew Zealand Prime Minister are planning responsibly with respect to the balance of the TW and looking ahead to game mechanics (e.g. auto attacks etc) to ensure that the TW is followed properly and it doesn't turn into something more by virtue of getting it wrong.
Of course, the Opposition wants our Government to fail and that's no surprise given the QQ after QQ since their election loss. At the end of the day, they have a choice toi make in eAustralia's interest: work with the Government to move the country ahead where everyone can prosper and have a future .. or if they wish to further inhibit eAus's growth and security they can choose to take their final foot out of the door and set up in eChina full time - an extension of what they have done already anyway.
It's a moot argument to say eAus doesn't have any bonuses and eChina does when there the eAus splinter faction are more interested in personal gain instead of their HOME country's national interest.
the fact the DD government keeps arguing for the TW just proves they have no idea about the geo-political situation.

TWs are good for everyone. Good for the smaller members of both our countries and also good for the larger during the lulls in the real wars.
