DSP's Plans: December 2012 - Creation of a Top Five Party

Day 1,841, 11:12 Published in United Kingdom Norway by Major Lee Hung

The DSP has been struggling to push past 16 members (we keep hovering from 10 - 1😎 as you may have seen. To combat this, we've been in talks with Alfagrem for a few days now, and decided that we're going to be merging our efforts in to one, pro-newbie party designed to raise a new generation of political players, and more importantly, increase retention rates in the eUK.

Together with the DSP's reward schemes and Alfagrem's supply schemes, membership in the new party will be more rewarding than any party to have risen before. We want to really improve the eUK, and this is going to be one of the many ways we do it.

Leak

Unfortunately, PCP learned of our merge and decided to use it in a propoganda attempt this week, so we're announcing the merge a few days early. As well as this, they decided it would be nice to send this fictional message to everybody in the party:

Hiya ***,

I presume you have already received contact from Josh informing you of the merge between UKIP and DSP to create a new left-wing party. This is not the case, alfagrem is a renowned right-winger having been a member of UKPP and being friends with Sir Nick Griffin a real life BNP member. Do not let your morals down simply for more power - lefties should stay left. That is why I am asking you, no, imploring you to join the People's Communist Party - the eUK's only true left-wing party. We are a place where everyone is listened to, no-one is ignored, and compromises for the sake of power are not made. I do hope you make the right decision.

Yours,
Zaphod Beeblebrox IV
PCP Vice-President and Congressman

1. How do you know that our plans aren't the case? Clearly they are the case or you wouldn't be sending this message in the first place.
2. Alfagrem's political beliefs are #1, none of your concern, and #2, obviously not your area of expertise based on this blatant lie.
3. Being friends with Sir Nick Griffin doesn't make Alfagrem evil.
4. The PCP runs little, if any, left-wing schemes. You can't tell everybody you're the only 'true' left wing party, because there's 2 others just in the top 5. The DSP is left wing, and there's probably other small parties.

I'm disappointed that the PCP stooped to this. Creating blatant lies and sending it to friends of the people you're insulting is a pretty dumb thing to do.

Transition Time Line

1st December - Beginning of talks
2nd December - Party-wide consultation
3rd December - Confirmation of merge
4th December - Begin to slowly move members over
5th December - Begin to plan community building events to bring the DSP and other party members together
6th December - Move 75% of the party over
7th December - Announce article (came 3 days early)
8th December - Complete merge
To do list: Come up with name and other specifics, survey the party members to see what they want.

So yes - The DSP is now combining with other like-minded citizens in a new party (with a more creative name than 'DSP' no doubt!) and we anticipate that we'll be in the top 5 by 10th December. Anybody wishing to join the DSP or this new party should join what's currently the 'UKIP'. The name and other details WILL be changed once our party president is elected. (It's better this way, as the new party members can elect the leader they want) We hope you join us, and thanks for your support so far! We're finally moving up.

(Side note, all members agreed to the merge and the full democratic process was undertaken)

Thanks,
Joshua Whelan
