Department of Information Gazette No. 01-17/05/09

Day 546, 03:43 Published in Australia Australia by eAus Department of Information

Fellow Australians,

This will be the first report from the Department of Information. Hopefully things will improve as time goes by and the other Departments complete full reports for it. The following information was due to be posted by Sunday Night EST on the 17th May. As you can see its a bit late, I had to cover the costs of the Org and Newspaper myself, at least for the time being.

I hope to bring you information that will aid you, or at least keep you in the loop to some degree without you having to troll through everything. I will state now, I will not include gossip, IE: I wont be including things from IRC, it would just over crowd things and I find it pointless.

I hope that my Deputy Minister Maverick Goh will have more to do after this initial posting. The plans I had for the Department were kind of in my head and I must admit I wasn't really ready for a Deputy at the time, however as the basics get laid out we should be fine.

If you can think of anything you would like covered specifically, please feel free to get in touch with myself or my Deputy, Maverick Goh either by eRep IM or Forum PM.

Ok, the reports as I was given them.

Department of Information:

As the Minister I have been working hard on several things to benefit us all. Here goes with the list:

1. New Hosting for the Forums - Done and they have finally been moved.
2. With the new hosting comes extra space and a new main page with accessable links to other places. Some open within the main page some open new windows. Don't forget to check it out: http://www.auserepublik.com/
3. On the new site we have a link that will take you to various useful tools for playing eRepublik.
4. The Department of Information has its own Section. This will be used to provide various things. At the present moment it contains links to the Australia Wiki. It contains a link to Policies, which can all be viewed online. These all relate to the Official Acts of Parliament. International Relations is also included. This contains Official Agreements and Treaties eAustralia has with others. More will follow.
5. The eRep Org has been created now. We hope to use this to let you all know whats happening on eRep.

In addition, the Prime Minister has asked that all Ministers use a special form to post the Department of Information a basic summary of whats occuring in their Departments each week, its hoped that this will actually occur. For the week ending the 17th May 2009 I've included the brief the Departments that contacted me sent.

Department of Foreign Affairs:
From Minister zaney:
Mouj has been more active in FA duties, establishing embassies in vital nations and swapping lists of important ministers. Relations with Indonesia have been improved, and first contact with Brazil on a 'let's talk serious' basis has been established.

From Deputy Minister Mouj:
This week, during the Queensland resistance warm, especially, has been fairly busy. I set up a few embassies (Indonesia, UK, Canada, Brazil and USA) plus did a big thing during the resistance, PMing all the Indonesian Congress members to encourage people to fight red, which worked fairly successfully. Other than that, not much else.

Department of Industry:
From Minister scotywest:
I have been working hard trying to train up my deputy Aussie Vegeta. I have also tried to bring food market prices down, and a creation of my first article this term: here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-moi-economy-industry-update-797553/1/20 thanks

Department of Finance:
From Deputy Minister Ranger Bob:
Greetings Since taking on the Deputy Minister of Finance, I have worked hard with our Minister Tim09 in a time of significant upheaval. We provided funds for the commencement of the first of several planned RW's with Indonesia, that led to the return of Queensland - as an adjunct to this, we have also ensured the final companies held be eIndo in Queensland have been purchased by the eAustralian Government, and these will now be on offer to interested investors. On other stuff, I have been working with Tim09 on a number of ideas to increase and improve the eAus Treasury's financial position. This includes a plan to very slowly appreciate the Australian Dollar to make us more competitive with international markets, and looking at plans to capitalise on foreign financial markets to help make the eAus dollar stronger.

Department of Social Services:
From Minister Timothy Rogers:
Each day the DoSS purchases gifts and uses them to gift all hospital employees 5 wellness. I am also currently working on increasing low wellness players' wellness. To do this I am gifting them to 40 wellness so they can participate in the wargames and heal using our q5 hospital. If they are out of NSW I am giving them MTs to get there.

The Senate:
The following proposals and bills have been placed before the Senate:

Founding the C4TA 05/09
