criticism on the rebellion

This is a bit of a bold statement critizising this rebellion that is currently going on but let me explain this. First I want to give you a bit of background on me. Besides a Erepublik player I am also a team member of another on-line browser based game, a totally different game though but it still gives me some insights that other might not have. I have been a team member there for almost 2 years as a moderator and as a super moderator on their forum. Although the concept of the game, and how it works it's totally different there are a lot of similarities. One of the biggest similarities is that the developers there also do not listen to the community. They change things, people get angry, some quit but a lot of them come back again. With the game where I am a team member we also get these "revolts" regularly when there is a change of people are just disgruntled with how the team works. Altough we are not able (nor willing) to ban the people who revolt I can understand the urge to do so as the admins in erepublik are actually doing. Heck I wouldn't mind banning some people there some times.

Moving on to this rebellion in Erepublik they are very similar as I already said. People don't like change and get unhappy and angry if the people who administer the game changes anything. If it is for the good of the game or if it's a bad change that does not matter people just dislike change, they want to keep everything the same as it is. In Erepublik there has been a lot of change recently, and although I won't judge if all the changes are made are good or bad the admins should have known how the people would react to the change. Personally I think this is a mistake made often by admins and developers of games including Erepublik that they don't consider the users who play the game. I can surely understand that it is hard to consider the users as most of them are against any change but their opinion and feelings still has to be considered.

Administrators and developers of games must consider that the people who are playing the game are the ones that they need to keep happy, something that is too easily forgotten a lot of the time. This not only goes for paying customers but also for non paying customer. A non paying customer who is a happy will invite other people who in turn invite other people and one of those may become a paying customer. On the other hand, players especially non paying player must understand that playing this game (Erepublik for instance) is a privilege and not a right. They are guest on the server where this is hosted. The game isn't a democracy and it will also never be a democracy.

From what I've seen one of the biggest problems with this rebellion, is not the rebellion itself but the way that it is done. This is not done in any sort of civil way but by posting articles that are insulting and unreasonable. I've seen some topics of the forum and most of them are not helpfull at all, on the contrary they only work against what this rebellion is trying to achieve. I am not against a rebellion but I am against how this rebellion is done. After the new citizens messages, things have escalated and gone from bad to worse. A small group of people should of people (the banned presidents for instance) should have taken control of the situation and should have tried to be reasonable and talk to the admins. Everybody is complaining now but most of this isn't taken serious by the admins due to the tone of how this is done. I saw a list of demands somebody people, It was quit a long list and it contained most of all the changes that are made last year or even longer. People must understand that in no way will ofcourse the admins will comply with these demands. If a reasonable list of demands are made I am sure that the admins at least are willing to talk.

That all being said, I hope that the rebellion will be fruitful and that the rebels and the admins can come to some sort of agreement on all this that is satisfactory for both side.
