Join the new world

It has been approximatly 14 days since my last report (edition7) as Chairman of Congress.

First some high notes of matters that have been discussed in the congress mass-pm.
There was a small debate about the reason why to raise the minimum wages and why not to raise them which included some debate about the purpose of a commune system.

Also debated a lot and still debated as i write are the matter of the Bank Managers. What they do and how or why. The usefulness of it and the possible alternatives. As it is still debated, you can imagine that a final answer to what shall be done with it has not been reached.

There was also discussions on a possible TW with the Netherlands and shortly after that the government started negotiations with the eNL government. In time we will see if this TW was handled good enough.


Here is a list of matters that have been discussed on the forum:
◎ {VOTE}Scrap laws : A vote that was started after this debate on the removal of some laws that no longer have a useful function in our country. vote passed with approval of all those who voted(6 people voted)

◎ The eRepublik eBelgium Hall Of Fame : In accordance with this law(eBe Heroes Day - February 21st) the request to add new names to the Hall Of Fame was made and debated(even in the congress pm in-gam). After a little technical problem the vote was settled and 2 of the proposed names where added to the Hall.

◎ Review and/or update laws: Immigration Law : A debate raised in response to discussions raised in other topics about the usefulness of the current immigration law and system. Little progress has been reached in this matter

◎ Review/adjust HF-HC law : A metter raised for similar reasons as the immigration law. This time it is about the access right(also called masks) Honorable Foreigner. In this it is believed that some people should not have the right to access certain parts of the forum. a final answer has not been reached yet.

◎ New players: What do you need? : A simple question raised as result of the recent baby-boom. Many possibilities where presented like More articles or other ways of sharing information, restarting or extending the mentorship program, extended possibilities on the forum for this large group(limited success so far), organizing contests that calls for activity.

◎ Review and/or update laws: Bank Manager law : No need to say what this is about as i explained in the beginning of this article and below as well. Some say that there is no need to adapt it, others want it to be completely changed. A good alteration of the law was presented, but no-one seems to be willing to compromise. It is as expected still an ongoing debate.


Here are the in-game laws that where launched since last edition:
✖ [REJECTED]President Impeachment : This matter was already covered in the previous article. 14 yes votes - 9 no votes

✖ [REJECTED]Minimum Wage : An attempt to raise the minimum allowed salary of the eBelgian citizens As most disagreed with this change it got rejected. Mostly because not everyone is paid in the same way as players with higher wages nor can all managers pay their workers with currency. 7 yes - 16 no

✖ [REJECTED]President Impeachment : This proposal was launched because of a disagreement about the current Bank Manager discussions. Although the proposal did not pass, it was however a close call and clearly showed that current congress is split about this matter.12 yes - 10 no(66% needed to pass)

✔ [APPROVED]Natural Enemy : This NE proposal was launched in direct relation to a debate about a possible TW. Shortly after this proposal the Netherlands also launched a similar NE proposal. more details about this TW can be found in this article20 yes - 1 no


Several days ago on of our CM has left eBelgium - Santiago Junior: he still remains involved in congress.
This is pretty much all that has happened in congress(or at least related to congress) since my previous report.
Some clarifications:
* MPP = Mutual Protection Pact
* CM = Congress Member
* CP = Country President
* CoC = Chairman of Congress
* NE = Natural Enemy
* TW = Training War - A war arranged by and between two nations with the intend to create military activity between each other.
