Confusions about the interview with Plato
Kevin Bartholomew
Good Day comrades,
Most of you have probably read this aricle. Some statements are unclear in my opinion. This is my own thoughts. This article was meant to be posted yesterday, however I lost my wallet in real life and had to search for it. Yes, I found it!
“I have the same mission: to try to keep eRepublik as close as possible to its original values.”
What is the original values? Tell me. We might have different values.
“We’re getting almost 1,000 tickets per day “
Is that something to be proud of? I’d say no. Erepublik has about 50 000 active players. At least 1000 are unsatisfied in one way. I think the high number clearly shows that something is not right. If the tickets are about game mechanics or something else I don’t know. But the number is high. 2% is a lot.
“eRepublik is really not about gold but about having fun, the gold is created only if you want to have more fun right in this very moment and not later.”
Are you high? I mean you no harm, but hey, the whole game is about gold. You need 280 gold to own all Q3 training grounds and then at least 500 gold in companies - just to gain 3.47 gold to train in all grounds. Don’t forget that that people are spending hundreds of golds in battles. I don’t have fun when one player can buy 3000 gold and fight alone against a whole country.
“Since the military module is the ones that involves the higher number of citizens, it’s normal from our side to try to bring him in a final form”
We don’t have an economic module or a political module so of course the military module involves most citizens. There would be much more people enjoying the economic module if it was more complex and offered us a challenge. The same goes with the political module. What can a congressman do? Vote once a day and nothing more.
“About future intentions I can share with you that we’ll come up soon with a survey and we’ll add a link where we’ll publish releases about current or future changes.”
I like this. But the future is not a time measurement. The future is tomorrow. The future is next year. I hope that you’ll add this survey as soon as possible. And what’s stopping you from publish future changes today? I’d love to hear about at least one future change in a week. That would make us, the players, have something to look forward to and talk and discuss about.
“For this we have weapons industry and food industry”
We don’t have a weapon or food industry. We have a Q6 weapon industry and a Q5 food industry. No one buys something else. I remember when I started to play. Fighting with weapons was considered as luxury. Even Q1 weapons was a luxury. Now Q6 weapons is not even considered as luxury.
Plato, I know that you are against articles like this. But remember that you are the only one who can stop us from posting critical articles. The first step is to listen and the second step is to take action. If you choose to listen before you take action is up to you.

As I recall we had a survey some time ago. My oppinion is that from then on everything whent downhill. The economy module was even worse and the political module stayed the same. So for me another survey most likely will lead to a further enhancement of the war module.
I'm sorry but I've lost fate...
yeeeeeee
“Since the military module is the ones that involves the higher number of citizens, it’s normal from our side to try to bring him in a final form”
He meant to say the military module is the one that involves the higher number of (paying) citizens, so from his side it is normal to extract as much cash from these individuals as possible and ignore the rest.
I agree with you, to be honest all modules are crap. In the military module you fight 'ghost', in eRep beta you could actually get your ass kicked in a fight and be wounded on the battle field. You could even use tactics to win.
Tactics.
In the economy module you could take a chance and keep storage and when all hell broke lose and money went expensive you could make a profit. Now prices has been constantly dropping (in gold) for two years so keeping stock is being plain stupid.
Im still a "New guy" but i still agree with all of you. If even i can see these problem and have been playing for soon only a month something is really wrong. The military module is not awesome but put some focus in the economy module please! After just afew days of playing it starts to get boring really really fast, Work as manager + Sell what you made = 50SEK?
Voted and subscribed. Good article!
Very good article mate! V
I agree with what has been said above, and I have nothing further to add.
This simply isn't going to last in the direction it's headed, and ever since beginning I've almost exclusively heard complaints regarding the game management. I think that should be something to think about Plato, that new players are being scared off by the attitudes of more senior players, saying everything is going downhill.
Sorry but plato cant hear you if you didnt buy 1000 euro worth of gold. THis has all been said before for at least the last two years and what has Plato done???? made the game more gold intensive and ignored the regular player. nice try tho but nothing will happen except another useless feature (like the new and improved smaller Daily order buttons.. WOW!!!!!!!! THANKU SO MUCH PLATO, thats exactly what this game needed) that will suck even more gold from ure pocket to try and get you to buy...
very good work man
nice article
