Classy Operation: The PAINful realization of Game Mechanics and eBE History

Recently, Vincent Pain publish his typical uninsightful tirade of hollow and substanceless rhetoric, one of his followers did offer an interesting comment.

" Is time for change our political and social system, let's install communism as social, political, and economic ideology, one new movement with ultimate goal the common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes"

I find this comment to be humorous and interesting. Black Panther II (BP), the author of the quote, evokes the desired change for our community. He/she suggest an image of a classless society in which every person has a stake/ ownership of the means of production. However, BP never talked about the practical aspect on how it will look in game. He also did not discuss the theoretical role of the government both in the means to create the classless state and the aftermath of such classless state. Lastly, BP like VP and others either purposefully ignore the leftist utopia that was eBE or are totally ignorant about it.

First lets discuss game mechanics. Just as real life there are no means in which the common people have an absolute stake in the means of production. In real life, I cannot and do not have any real salient voice in regards to the operations of national and state corporations, companies, and entities. This wholes true too in the game. For even in Headhunters as with all other MU's, the absolute ownership of the companies that produce food and weapons exist in one of the member's account. It is impossible for all members to have ownership of it. While all members ideally operates as a team/ collective, this in itself is a form of representative republican form of governance. Therefore, there is no real means for an absolute common ownership of the means of production. Even within the Headhunters MU, the task of maintaining the means of production is delegated to a select few who are the elites of their movement. It does not work on the MU level and it will definitely not function on the national level. The game is called eRepublik for a reason. It operates via an representative system dependant on an elitist class.

In addition to economic class, there is definitely a warrior class divided via divisions and MU's. Divisions separate strength more or less. While there are extremely weak players in high divisions and vice versa, the concept of Division is a kind of class. MU itself is a kind of class as each MU seeks their own political and military well being. It is also a microcosm of the game world in which it has internal partitions and hierarchical structures. Therefore, there are subclasses in the form of division, function, etc within the class of each MU. In short, eRep cannot be a classless society.

Second, BP never discuss the role of government. MCKitkat brought a great point to VP's article. He asked VP about the means to build a regime in their vision. We hear them say "No No No!!!" "Elite Evil!!!" etc, but they never offered any real plans and reforms. They cry injustices but never contribute a remedy to their perceived problems. While it is impossible to create a true communist country, it would be nice to see detailed realistic policy reforms. Their lack of proposals demonstrates their lack real ideas to govern. They themselves deitized the romantic rhetoric of leftist idealist without comprehending the original text nor the practical operations both in game and in real life. Therefore, I believe they enjoy being in the position where they are. They can continue their self "victimization" and be the "underdogs" while trying to consolidate power and influence without responsibilities and ideas/ policies to govern.

They love to evoke the past. They keep bringing up social programs of the past. eBE was as close to an leftist utopia as humanly possible. However, they either choose to ignore it or are totally ignorant of it. instead, they seek to destroy one of the most progressive social welfare state in the game. eBE offered money and material (food and weapons) to new players using tax generated revenues in addition to private donations from heroes like Elynea and MaryamQ. All new citizens are welcomed to such programs and the sign up is done in the eBE forum due to logistical purposes. The government also offered grants and loans to citizens who want to expand and improve their companies. Few countries offered such benefits and welfare to their citizens. And yet, people like VP keeps calling eBE's social welfare state a form of corruption and seeks the destruction of such system. He complains about corruption as they want government funding for their MU who many times fought against eBE and her allies. VP claims their tax contribution warrants government support. A few years ago when he made this complaint, I did the math. He made every members of Headhunters work minimum wage with was .01 cent. Even if we assume all members of their MU worked which is at most 25-30 people, the government would only collect 10 percent of 30 cents. If we multiple that by 7, the whole MU would not pay more than 2.7 CC a week. That is nothing. VP and Headhunters have no real legitimate claims to state sponsorship when they pay such rubbish amounts while they continue to fight against the eBE community both in the forms of military campaigns and their promotion of hostile illegal immigration. Vincent Pain claim to the corruption of the eBE community is nonsensical and warrantless.

In short:
