Can anyone explain Determination / Occupation period

I've been looking at the occupation of UK regions and the resulting determinations and it appears to not make sense.
According to the Wiki:
When a region is kept under foreign occupation, the people’s determination to overthrow the oppressors increases over time. This leads to a determination bonus that multiplies the influence in battles against the oppressor.
The determination bonus is proportional to the number of days a region is occupied. The longer the region is held under occupation, the stronger the determination gets.
It also states that determination is calculated over the last 250 days
Occupied Regions
Scotland 1 day Hungary 1.09 Greece 1.10 Croatia 1.58
North East of England 186 days Greece 1.49 Argentina 2.31 Croatia 1.01
North West of England 7 days Hungary 1.30 Argentina 1.39 Bulgaria 1.02 Greece 1.05
West Midlands 11 days Turkey none given Hungary 1.01 Argentina 2.75 Bulgaria 1.04 Chile 1.03
East of England 1 day Chile 1.04 Argentina 2.71 FYROM 1.02
Wales 18 days Argentina 1.01 Hungary 1.29 Bulgaria 1.03 Turkey 1.11 Chile 1.05
South West of England 17 days Argentina 1.02 Bulgaria 1.02 Turkey 1.97 Chile 1.02
South East of England 42 days Croatia 1.01 Hungary 1.01 Argentina 1.04 Bulgaria 1.01 Turkey 1.69 Chile 1.09 FYROM 1.01
London 54 days Turkey 1.22 Argentina 1.87 Bulgaria 1.01 Chile 1.01 FYROM 1.01
Unoccupied Regions
Northern Ireland Hungary 1.03 Croatia 1.81 Egypt 1.16
East Midlands Romania 1.08 Argentina 1.29 Greece 1.32 Chile 1.07
Yorkshire & Humberside Romania 1.11 Argentina 1.75 Greece 1.12 Cyprus 1.02
The present occupation period is based on figures taken from the World Map and some of these look hopelessly wrong. Two things look blatantly wrong. Greece is supposed to occupied North East of England for 186 days yet determination has only risen to 1.49 and although Turkey occupies West Midlands no determination figure is given for them and if the region is liberated the game appears to think that it is being liberated from Argentina

nice article. don t know the answer. All i know is that top players in the e-uk with alot of power are fighting against e-uk and therefore making e-uk a weak country. i have seen this attitude in e-cyprus where it was off the map for months and made it weak . this also made players leave. Fighting on the enemy side makes them get more medals and also makes them in control of the e-uk or e-cyprus game on their own with out the need of other players. They turn the game into a personal game. This is one of the reasons why e-republic used to have 90.000 players and 80.000 players 70,000 and now only has 46,207. wow. this game is..being killed by some...
Yeah I ended up leaving but not for that reason. I had RL issues to deal with and couldn't really deal with the stress I was in. But it was fun, I was in congress then involved in a coup.

Thanks for explaining o7
It´s not a bug. It has a lot to do with the movements made by the occupying forces. Look at the higher det numbers for Argentina, Croatia, Turkey and Greece in some regions. The reason for that is those countries stayed in those regions for quite some time without moving on. Only when the det got untenable for those countries in certain regions then they moved on and swapped regions with other countries. Now look at the lower det numbers for Chile and Hungary in almost all regions. Both countries carry out TWs on British soil, they stay in a region for one day and then they move on to the next region liberating the first region at same time. This way det against Chile and Hungary won´t increase as fast as against standing occupying forces.
Btw the reason for those TWs is that the UK broke the deal it had with CODE/Andes. After CODE/Andes cleared the UK from Asterians the UK gov made a deal: CODE/Andes will keep wiped the UK in order to prevent a PTO. In exchange the UK won´t fight against CODE/Andes. But after 3 months the UK broke that deal, hence CODE/Andes won´t keep wiped the UK anymore especially at congress election time. Now you have to deal yourself with your PTO threat.
