Awakening

Day 2,026, 22:10 Published in India Albania by Ruler of The New World

I woke up knowing it was raining. Firstly because I could hear the rain drumming against the roof, secondly because thunder seemed to split the sky and thirdly because I had that warm fuzzy feeling people get when they wake up and they know it's raining. I laid there for a god half-hour beneath by Doona conserving my body heat when the the downpour increased making seem as through the droplets of water were going to punch through the roof.

But I still forced myself out of bed to go to rugby training. Yes and hour-and-a-half of running around in a muddy field doesn't appear to be particularly enjoyable but it was. I sacrificed my warmth and my comfort for a team and a training session. The mud covered my clothes, and I was soaked to the bone but I was grinning.

I grew up with my parents over my shoulder telling me to study and work. "Get stronger, physically and mentally. And I thank them for it. When I got up at 0500hrs to go to rugby training I realized that what I did made me a little t stronger, a little bit fitter and a little bit more self-disciplined. This transition from being lazy to relatively fast in the uptake has changed my life.

I guess the point of this article is to reiterate that no matter how comfortable we are a little discomfort, a little pain pays of in the end. It also means my parents were correct.

And that my readers is true awakening.
