My eRepublik Journey

I first joined eRepublik in October 2009. The game then was quiet obviously a whole lot different from what we’re playing today. My main memory from this initial discovery of this game was the political side of things. I especially remember a number of failed congressional campaigns, back when you had to be elected in a regional contest to get into congress. After playing for a for a few months, and failing in my campaigns, I stopped playing for a while, exploring other online games.

I came back to the game on and off between 2009 and 2014, being ambassador to eFrance and eChile and being involved in a few congresses but never staying around for any significant period of time.

I came back to eRepublik properly in 2014/15, spending all of this time with the WRP. Winning a number of congressional terms during this period. Near of the end of this stint in eRepublik I even managed to dislodge the ever-present AMD from the WRP Presidency spot. Just as I had managed to reach the top of the WRP real life took over and the University life meant that eRepublik became something of the past.

It seemed that eRepublik would stay in the past until the events of last year left me with a lot of time on my hands. I initially tried to get back into my account during the first lockdown here in the UK but couldn’t find a way to access my old email address that I’d used to set up this account. After a few weeks of trying, and no help from the eRepublik staff, I felt as if maybe eRepublik was meant to stay in my past.

Fast forward to February of this year and I finally managed to get back into that old email address and back into my account here. This was right in the middle of another lockdown here in the UK so the opportunity to fill some time was a godsend. Since coming back I have helped out both Huey and Frixios of the Clyde with their respective governments, serving as your Minister for Education for the last two months while also taking over the Air Rewards Programme from Athena. I have thoroughly enjoyed this time in government and I hope to continue serving this country.

I hope that you will be kind enough to give me your vote on the 5th June and give me the opportunity to take my eRepublik journey another step forward as President of this country.

It is evidently clear that we need to have at least two more training wars set up as soon as possible. I know Sir Humphrey Appleby has been working behind the scenes to try and get this sorted and this will something of a main priority for my government during the first few days. Chile seems to be a very viable option for our second training war and I will endeavour to negotiate with them as soon as possible to get that set up. While it seems that a French TW could be out of the question due to Irish complaints about supposed interference in their TWs, there is still hope that a deal can be made there. If not other options will be explored.

Speaking of deals, it seems, from what I’ve heard from the other side of the Irish Sea, that our peace deal with them is effectively dead in the water. While we still have an agreement in place with CODE, which will hopefully prevent the re-ignition of hostilities with our Irish cousins, I think it is incredibly important to bring the Irish back to the table and sort out a concrete long-term peace deal so that the relationship between our two counties can hopefully start to be rebuilt.

In all negotiations, whether they be with countries to arrange TWs or with the Irish to arrange a long-lasting peace deals, I will make sure that the citizens of the eUK are fully-informed of everything that is going on. I promise to be fully transparent in everything that takes place in my government.
