Al Kazar/Shiloah vs. Krimpie/Cyber Witch
Fhaemita The Apostate
Tomorrow, there will be the president elections. I wanted to write a article about the candidates Krimpiekat and Al Kazar and the people they have chosen as their running mates Shiloh DeGreat and Cyber Witch and who in my opinion would be the best choice for becoming the new president and vice president of South Africa. Who ever it will be, they will have a hard job filling the void left by Grimstone.
Community Activity
With Community Activity I mean activity on both forum and on irc. The duo Krimpiekat/Cyber Witch are both very active on irc as they run the main South African irc channel, Al Kazar and Shiloh are both barely active on irc. With the exception of tonight when both where on irc for a while but before that I have only seen Al Kazar four times on irc and Shiloh is also barely on irc. The forums on the other hands things are a different. Al Kazar if ofcourse forum admin and thus very involved in forum affairs, on the other hand Shiloh was until the beginning of this year barely active on the forum. on the Krimpie/Witch side both aren't very active posters with 318 and 397 post. Although they may not have many post that does not mean they do not read. I am pretty sure at laast Cyber Witch reads a lot of what is happening on the forum.
Political Experience
Three of the four people have very limited cabinet experience. only Cyber Witch has at least six months of experience. Also three out of the four have congress experience with the exception of Shiloh DeGreat who has been in congress once and was mostly inactive. The most experienced congress person is ofcourse Al Kazar seeing he had multiple terms as speaker and deputy speaker of congress. Cyber Witch has held multiple positions in government, multiple terms. She's been minister of defense the last 5 months, and before that Minister of Internal Affairs and Krimpie has been deputy minister of Internal Affairs and this last month advisor to the president.Both. Al Kazar and Shiloh have never held a cabinet position.
Militairy Experience
Shiloh claims "a vast military career", I don't know the exact detail of what he has done in his military career, all I do know that he has held multiple positions in multiple divisions in the eSAAF and that he currently is a lieutenant and platoon CO in the parabats and as far as I know Al Kazar never held a high position in the eSAAF or in any other (foreign) army or millitia. Both Krimpie and Cyber With have a vast experience in fighting and in the military, Krimpie has been cocommander the 82nd (US) Airborne Division, held multiple positions in the eSAAF, platoon leader in Seal team 7 and currently in US Marines. CyberWitch is currently in the US Airborn, has been Commanding Officer of the Training Division and is currently also the commanding officer of the Pretorian Guard.
Foreign Affairs Experience
Krimpie has been around the world and back again and that a couple of times, he has been working under, for and commanding a lot of different people and I am sure he has some interesting contacts all over the world. CyberWitch has been Minister of Defense for 5 months and in that functions made lots of contacts in both military and politics is different countries. Yet again I am not sure of Shiloh but I am pretty sure that he and Al Kazar does not have the contacts that Krimpie and Cyber Witch have.
Conclusion
For me, seeing the things that I know and wrote down in this article the choice (at least for me) seems pretty clear. For me the Al Kazar/Shiloh ticket is to inexperienced in almost all fields, they have barely any cabinet experience, and with the exception of today have barely been on irc. IRC is a lifeline for a president, you can keep contact with the people you work with (the ministers), ambassadors, and representatives from other countries. A President does not come on irc for a couple of hours a day, but should be on irc the whole day true. IRC, and the things that happening on irc, like meetings etc take up most of the time of a president. Also, the recent comments Al Kazar made in a congress topic that cabinet members should be that congress and that somebody who wants to be in the cabinet surely also would want to be in congress. I think with that last comment he showed how out of touch he is with what people think, and what they think of congress. He also thinks that by observing what he sees on the forum he has a pretty good idea and how cabinet works. I think he is very much underestimating cabinet and what cabinet does. Even though he thinks he knows the basic of cabinet, I can tell him from experience that being President is far, far, far more complex and time consuming then you might think. I understand that Al Kazar wanted to make a deal with the Constitutional Equality Party but Shiloh is far from a good choice, I think there are people better suited for the position in Constitutional Equality Party. Shiloh has never been an active citizen. For me, but that is my personal opinion Krimpie/CyberWitch would be the better choice.
Disclaimer: This is only based on my knowledge of the president candidates and their running mate's There might be things that are not correct. This is written to the best of my knowledge

Good article.
I disagree about the IRC thing though. Personally, I see no value for IRC other than to solidify a "group" mentality. Any and all business can be conducted on forums...and I would argue that IRC reinforces a certain clique that use it--automatically isolating those who don't. There's ALREADY an ingroup-outgroup mentality with those that use forums.
I understand that the eRep platform is pretty bare and we need offsite stuff. But I personally don't agree with using IRC often as it isolates the average citizen who just plays the game. (Obviously, in certain conversational instances, like two CPs discussing a matter, it would be useful)
Well this is sort of interesting...btw the title has a typo.
Though I CAN vouch for Shiloh a little. He might not have been all that active until this year, but Shiloh is, quite honestly, one of the smarter people that I know anywhere(including RL, mind you).
Also, keep in mind that minimal Cabinet experience does not automatically equal a bad politician. I had two Deputy terms myself(my second term was largely inactive, since we were collaborating with the Director of Fun, and he went off somewhere IRL), and people keep telling me I was alright as CP, even though I thought I was a s*** CP.
Likewise, Al has a good amount of political experience, and is definitely a political person, which is a good chunk of what being a CP is, what with the foreign relations and such. Al, I know for a fact, can keep a level head, and make the right decisions when he needs to make them.
In a perfect world, we'd have a decent Chat server (hell, a decent National Forums area) on eRep.
@stryke - I thought you made a good CP...you are too hard on yourself.
@merle: Stryke was a good CP. He should go for it again soon imo, but he's a prick, so he hates on himself just to piss me off 😃
Also, Shiloh is ver inactive post wise on the forums. That said, he reads EVERYTHING. Thing's i've posted in that I would think no one reads, i've had Shiloh PM me about yelling that my idea was stupid, presented stupid, or of course, my grammar sucked. He is active in his own ways that don't include posting.
Al Kazar will still make a better President. He has much more political experience, he is much more diplomatic, he is very organised and good at getting people to work together to get things done. The President doesn't have to be the best at everything, that's why he has a cabinet, but he needs to have the things that Al Kazar has. And that's what will make him a great president.
Stryke was CP?
@Matt: yes, he was. last president (double check that) b4 the PTO a while back. He had is medal removed because the PTOers had control of congress and impeached him, so, he yelled at admins for a few months to remove it since he feels he wasn't really CP since he didn't finish his term.
Wow, I did not mean to make such a long ass comment. My apologies. Feel free to ignore it.
Definitely written with a FOX news approach.
Shiloh and me has close relationship!!!??? Lol, jk. We've done somethings man. If those forums could talk, they'd say some things like 18inches, oh baby, and FINISH HIM!!! But that's neither here nor there.
@MrWet: lol. I get it. little annalytical thinking or process. jsut one sided biass!
@Wet
OW, DAMN! Why you gotta be so mean? Telling someone they have a FOX News viewpoint is a horrible insult, it's like calling a woman fat.
After all, to be an expert at FOX News, you just gotta walk through the door.
Good article, and a good breakdown of the facts.

"Good article, and a good breakdown of the facts."
: |
Honestly, regardless of political affiliations, this article can't really be called factual. While I don't expect people to know of my business, I still can't find much excuse for an article that basically says, "This guy has done this, I don't know what this other guy has done, though, so vote for the first person." To have such blatant political bias yet play itself off as a breakdown is a bit shameful.
And I also understand that there really isn't much to go by. Neither politicians have made a "Presidential Platform" in the regular sense. Al Kazar voiced his opinions through an interview, and Krimpie voiced his through the "I know people" slogan. It becomes less of a political debate and more of a popularity contest. Mark, even you've said that you had hardly any experience when you became CP, and you did pretty well I thought. And all of these categories which Fhaemita is basing his vote on have absolutely nothing to do with political beliefs.
In short, I find this as nothing more than a well-developed propaganda piece. I'm sure it took a lot of time to write, but Fhae, it's really not hard to reach me and ask a few questions instead of posting an article where the best you can give is, "Well, I don't know". I really wouldn't have turned you down for an interview, regardless of the brevity. I'd rather you flat out say, "Vote for Krimpie" with knowledge than, "I don't really know about his opponent, so I guess I'll vote for Krimpie."
P.S. I'd defend Al as well, but I figured I'll let him defend himself more accurately than I could.
I'm laughing at those playing down the role of IRC in a game like this.
In my time in this game, IRC has played a MAJOR role in the following.
- running battle operations and co-ordinating damage with allies
- distributing weps and wps to hired tanks
- meeting with foreign presidents, cabinet and ambassadors
- making yourself visible to your citizens and also foreign delegates - it's a primary source of communication and preferred over in-game PMs.
The forums and IRC cannot be used mutually exclusively. They serve 2 separate purposes, the former being used more domestically whilst the latter used more for foreign affairs.
If you cannot or won't use IRC, then you cannot do the above and please don't waste our time running for CP.
I seriously do not understand how somebody not active on IRC, without many contacts, without a public face outside eSA, and without ANY experience at all in cabinet can do good as president. That said, once you fulfil those things, you will do a perfect CP, and I will be glad to vote you. But for now, I will vote for Krimpie.
I would not even dream of running for CP until I can bring my IRC activity up. And I am way more active than Al, in fact I have not seen Al on IRC EVER!!!
So, you have three people telling you how Important IRC is. Fhaemita Malodorous (1 x Ex-CP), Zamrg (1 x ex-CP) and me (3 x ex-CP).
I suggest you wake up and smell the coffee and admit that if you want to be CP, you have to be on IRC, in a major way as it is you primary tool of communication with your cabinet, your people, and your allies. Even before IRC became the big thing on eRep we used to communicate through MSM.
It is also a vital tool for dealing with events that happen, and for tactical purposes. There is really no excuse.
@Shiloh DeGreat - My cabinet experience was not great but I did have congress experience, resistance governance experience through S.A.I.L and military leadership and tactical knowledge through SAAF and the eUS based eSAAF during the resistance. I also had been VP and acting CP during Ines ban.
I believe that even though my knowledge was not great, it was well rounded. Something key that I did have and what ensured my success as CP were my connections in the eUS.
It has to be asked, does being a congressman, or a congressional speaker qualify you for the Presidency. I believe it can, if it is coupled with at least some knowledge of the Dynamics of governance. A dynamic that not one person can say they have mastered completely. Governing a country is fluid, not rigid; it does not have procedure 98% of the time.
I believe that neither candidate is perfect, but I think given the chance Krimp can show greatness.
All of you seem to lose track of the fact that both IRC and the forums are non-eRep forms of communication.
Both of them has their strong points.
The forums are more structured, and you have more time to rethink your replies. With the different timezones we're all in it's a godsend for things like congressional voting.
Irc on the other hand is more on the fly. It's now. Got to think fast and sometimes type even faster.
You meet more people on it as has been said which is what puts it ahead of the forums for me.
I bet I've met more foreign presidents and politicians on IRC than you've met on the forums. They just don't tend to hang around the forums as a rule.
That said, in a perfect world you'll need to find a balance between the two. Now please do stop argueing about it. It's not even an issue really.
I never claimed it was neutral, it never claimed it was 100% accurate that's why I added a disclaimer. It's funny to see that the people calling my article biased are the same person who where screaming that I should not have posted my opinion about the CP candidates last month. I am free to give my opinion, but it seems that certain CEP members are only for freedom of speech if it is in their advantage.
IRC is a handy tool and does have its place, especially if you are President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defense, etc. or for major discussions or meetings. I have used IRC many times when I have needed to use it, but I have not had much use for this tool as a member of Congress or as Speaker of Congress and I am not much of a person for non-essential chit chat. Normal day to day internal matters do not require the unique properties of this tool and it also does not provide an easy way to keep a record of discussions for those that were not part of the discussion. Important discussions with major decisions or agreements need good record keeping. Obviously if I am in a position such as President where it is necessary to make more use of this tool, then I will certainly do so.
great article
"and I am not much of a person for non-essential chit chat"
Seriously, what? You too good to talk to us??
" and it also does not provide an easy way to keep a record of discussions for those that were not part of the discussion. "
Well, yes it does. I auto log everything. Any channel I have opened is logged into a .txt file.
Talk about a bias article. 'I am pretty sure' you should base your article on known facts and not circumstantial guessing. Adn who cares if Al Kazar/Shiloh is not actice on IRC? It is only the official eSA IRC in name but 'I am pretty sure' it is actually just a place for a select few to conive and come up with these kind of articles to discredit other players. 'I am pretty sure' Al Kazar/Shiloh will make great leaders.
'Good article, and a good breakdown of the facts.'
Mark Morcom - Top Brass of the eSA Elitist gang showing his worth.

If your going to pick a side don't title it with both it makes it look it could be neutral but its an obvious rant for one side next time title it to your side
Oh common Nick, the Title states:
Al Kazar/Shiloah vs. Krimpie/Cyber Witch
The key point here was "vs" as in a boxing match.
Don't come with utter nonsense
Mark, you alright?
You seem very mad today...
Just a game
Of course he is Oprah. The old senile man is trying to hold on to what little 'knowledge' to stop himself from feeling like an invalid. Don't worry Markie boy. I hear old age care in the eWorld is pretty good. I'm sure your elitist club will be round to change your diaper you little cutie pie.
Answer me this, Where have you been - Why the hell do you suddenly pop up?
@Mark: don't worry about him. Not everyone has to like you (you know i don't, for instance) but you don't need to challenge every attack. You've done your part for eSA, without question. If people are going to call you elitst, or anything that doesn't have true merrit, facts, or a well developed opinion, i'd say at this point in your eLife, ignore them.
"It's funny to see that the people calling my article biased are the same person who where screaming that I should not have posted my opinion about the CP candidates last month."
"Mr. President says vote for this person" 😕= "Hey, you don't have much information about the other candidates there, how about I provide some?"
Does not equal*, I dunno why the slash canceled out the other equal sign, but left the rest of the message intact...
"She's been minister of defense the last 5 months"
Correction-Miyagiyoda was MoD for 1 term...
wow. honestly fhae you make the worst articles ever.
Unlike you Mark I am more interested in the real world than the eWorld so I do sometimes disappear from this game when I get bored with it. But I will always come back to make your elitist eLives an eLiving hell
Well, just so so know, I have a very rich, very fulfilling Real life, as many people here can attest to. I also manage to keep up with the game. You obviously don't and thus I don't care about you opinion.
For everyones else's interest, go through this mans shouts and articles. He has been crying elitist since the start of the Second Rep.
"wow. honestly fhae you make the worst articles ever. "
You write articles, not make them.......
For somebody who doesn't care about my opinion you sure do pay a lot of attention to me. Just admit it. You fear me you elitist fool
Lol, You remind me of someone.
I don't fear you. Just don't like being called stuff which I am not
Like what? Big and strong? Don't worry I won't call you that
Fhaemita Malodorous is apparently the Jerry Springer of eSA.
P.S. Fhae's logic is flawed. The whole, "I don't know them so I won't vote for them" has been miraculously contradicted by Hamilton Moore. He sets a bright example for us all.
Jisses, for the past >year I watched you bleat about elitists in eSouth Africa yet I have to see you do something constructive or even make a constructive suggestion.
The only time I saw you do anything at all was when you were the party favor of the channer crew.
If you have constructive ideas on how to make eSA great then you give me a shout and I will listen. I'm interested in results, not your blabbering.
Those 2 lumps in your underwear, they're testicals. Man up dude and stop goiing on like a pre-menstrual teenager. It's getting painful to watch.
ps. Before you start whining about elitists again, I offered Ronell a job in my cabinet. She declined it because she already had the exact same job in eNZ.
