About ... one God

Namaste.
Last article, the one with prize for an article regarding the problem of Soul gave me, like anything in this life, some good and some bad feelings.
The good part is that I started a very nice talk with a younger friend (I meet here Raj, and was a very pleasant surprise), that I got krontzo started to further develop her story about the so many story we could say about Soul and, not the least, that eIndia most kind “mahila” (yes, I talk about RD1234) came back to eLife and even transferred me 1K INR to add them to the prize (which is now of 5 gold and 1K INR).
Now, the bad part is there is no article on this topic, until now.
Still waiting for your articles. Is enough to post a link to them here, in comments, or send me a PM with the link.
So, I will „quote“ here, some of the thoughts of my new friend Raj:
„My friend is a christian, who claimed that she was for namesake christian, later she read the bible and is now a follower of Christ, On our topics from god we moved to humans and there came the topic of souls, She refers that only man has a soul and all the other animals have life, I rejected the claim being an Hindu all my life, Having listened to the teachings of Krishna and The story of Ramayana, I claimed that "If there is a soul" Then all creatures of the living have it too, She openly claimed that the body may die but the soul is immortal it will live even after the death of the body which has no life. According to her a a body with life and a soul is always human, As for me where there is life there is soul.“
So it is for Christians, Muslims and Jews. Only the man have a Soul, and the rest of the creature dont.
Intresting to find out why is that so different to them (because in ancient time all the rest of ppl believed that the world is full of one big Soul, with many representation – animals, plants, places like rivers, forest’s, mountains, etc) ?
All this start with the story of Moses, an egyptian prince, that wanted to liberate the ppl of Israel from the slavery (the Bible and Tora say so). Then, after escaping Egypt, he wondered with them in desert for 40 years (just to be sure that all individuals of the old genration – those who where slaves – died).
Mean time he created rules and a religion for them. The religion with only one God (named Adonai or Iahwe – depending on the mood He was).
Now, before that israelites where followers of the egyptian religion and god’s so, why they changed ?
Fact is that in Egypt exist a before atempt to have a single God, with the name „Atonai“ (strange resamblance with the jewish Adonai, I would say), who united all the hypostases of the Sun god, Ra.
Akhenaton, the pharaoh that do that, seem to have, as reason, the will for power ower the priests of the multiple god’s of Egypt, so he created a new religion.
What you think about this ? Could all this great religion of the world have started because someone was seeking more power ?
All this is nothing but a chat from the door of eAshram and will not really help you, unless you began to act ... or cease acting.

everything srarted as a philosophy and was converted into religion by the next generation of rulers or priests whichecer way we can like to see it. hinduism as a religion never existed as in this land there is multiple philosophies, multiple philosophers, multile gods and demi gods and demi god-men.
So you say humans prefer to "believe" instead of thinking ?

In my opinion, believing makes you think, but who am I to state such thoughts
🙂
Doubting make you exist I heard before, now this is interesting. Believe make you think.
Very interesting article : )
Let me make a correction here, In Christian and Islamic doctrine it is believed that every living being has a soul (state of soul in different beings is different though). In Judaism some sects like Safid and Orthodoc believe in human soul only, though Naties believe in every living has soul, Zens recently changed their views according to political needs.
I completely agree with Neel's comments, people 've made up myths/philosphies and rulers and priests in every religion 've been playing with it....
2 Peter 2:12
".....They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish."
Let it be explained also, coz in "International Version" "King James Version" and "Gateway Version" define it in different words. This verse is about those false teachers and priests who try to play, also the word parish is used here for translation need : )
What I meant to say was, The bible says that the soul is an act of the mind, it represents the mind, Adam was given superiority over plants and animals to feed over them.... Only humans have souls according to the bible!
The answer for the meaning of religion that you seek lies in this game. Look for the e-religions and eGods around, I am sure they (and their followers) mirror real life uncannily.
Maniu, I have always had the highest regard for your reflections, but this one not so much. You have stated the Moses story carelessly, ascribed motives (I believe, falsely), and treated the names of God as a bit of a joke. The Egyptian Aten clearly means the sun; Adonai clearly means Lord. There is no etymological relationship between them. Power always play a role in human affairs but, so, in my view, does God. I believe that, while human religion is of course run by mortal and infallible beings, there is divine input as well. A more fruitful approach, in my view, would be to try to sift out the most significant divine input in each tradition and ponder that.
And I meant to add, Maniu, bless you, my friend. You are on the higher path.
Btw, I just posted a new installment of "In the Eye of God." This one responds to an earlier question posed by Maniu: How would I tell Abigail (about my God experience)?
Be well, my friends, and fight for India!
Personally (no influence to others) I believe that religion is propaganda made by people who knew it not as such but used it to gain influence (power) over less educated people.
