Since I released my announcement article and posted a topic on each of the Top 6 party’s forum, some issues have come up from the people that I’ll just centralize into this article.

Taxes

Taxes are always a hot button issue in this country. At almost every tax amount, you’ll find people who think it should be lower, and people who think it should be higher. Some people think the Work Tax should always stay at 8%, others say 12%, and they usually both can agree on 10%.

For a while now, the tax has been set at 15% to replenish the reserve. But ever since these Resource Wars began there have been small chirps that the tax should be lowered to attract more people to our regions, or at least encourage people not to leave.

A couple days ago, Congress finally started the official discussion on the Work Tax, Resource Wars, and what we should do with it. As the discussion drew on, many people started to agree to a 1% tax for the time being. I am for this shift to 1%.

However, you should know that this 1% tax rate is NOT sustainable. Our expenditures will exceed our revenue with this low tax rate, which means that sometime in June, the work tax will be revisited and re-adjusted. Hopefully, the new baseline tax rate will be no higher than 8%, but it all depends on what these Resource Wars will do to our tax base.

Blacklisting

A lot of people remember the December Revolution, and the blacklisting of 24 people because of it. I am not afraid to say that I voted to blacklist every single one of the 24, as they actively went against the government.

This event spawned a discussion that has lasted for months on whether or not blacklisting is effective, and if it should even exist in the first place.

I’m in support of the Blacklist, but only because it’s the only thing there really is for a punishment for breaking a law, at least as severely as fighting against the government. I am, however, completely open to alternatives to Blacklisting. If the alternative was shown to be effective, then I would support it 100%.

Sunshine

This one was a sure doozy.

For anyone that frequents the eUSAForums, you have probably seen my CP run thread in We The People’s subforum. Today, Hale26 posted a question in regards to Sunshine and his actions that occurred about a month ago.

For those of you who don’t know, Sunshine was elected party president to We The People. Everything seemed fine and dandy until Sunshine decide to take 1.53 million CC from Oblige through his Whalefare system, which distributes CC based on what you do. He also changed the name of We The People, changed it’s logo, and more. He essentially just desecrated and disrespected the whole party.

This lead to Whalefare being shutdown, which is what new members of their party rely on to get their feet running. It also lead to quite a few members leaving the party afterwards.

In no way do I endorse or support Sunshine’s actions. At first I thought the Whalefare exploitation was funny because it seemed to only affect one person. That was before I realized the extent of the damage Sunshine’s actions had caused to the WTP as a whole. After learning that the incident caused so much damage I realize it wasn’t funny in the least because it hurt the WTP community, and therefore part of the eUSA community. I ask that Sunshine come out and publically apologize to the WTP party for his actions.

In regards to the Federalist Party letting him into Congress, it is my understanding that Sunshine was doing work for the party, and in true Federalist tradition, they put him on the lower side of the Congress list for it, and he got in. I have and had absolutely no control over this.

Hopefully both the Federalist Party and We The People party can put aside their newly acquired differences and work on rebuilding a healthy relationship.

That’s it from me for now. Tomorrow I’ll be releasing my cabinet list, and I’m sure you’ll all be happy to see what’s been built.
