[The Independant Party] PP Manifesto

Day 1,845, 05:33 Published in United Kingdom Norway by Major Lee Hung

Hello members of The Independant Party,

I'll be running for party president in our first ever election, and I need your support to do so!

Here are just a few values I stand for to make the party better:
-A full democratic process, where the president merely delegates the work put on him/her by the members;
-A strong community;
-Social responsibilities for the wider community, not just our own party;
-An equal for oppotunity for everybody; no matter who you are, what level you are and who your friends are.

I want to make sure that our founding principles become permanent. We need a strong, full-fledged democracy. We need strong activity. We need retention for a better eUK. We need armed new members to fight at full capacity. We need you to achieve this.

What I Intend to Do

There's no use just saying what I want to do - it's overused and they're just empty promises. Instead, I'm going to give you my full implementation plan of what I want to do, when I want it done by and how I think it should be done.

Deciding of the Name

For our first couple of days, I'll give us the name, 'The Independent Party' as a place-holder name. Members will put forth their nominations for a name (I believe Alfagrem is currently handling this) and then, we'll vote on those names. The winning name will become the party name, so keep it catchy! I intend to finish this up in the first three days of my term.

Party Avatar

The party needs a logo - a face to go with a name. Members will be asked to nomiate logos they want to see as our face. Then, we'll vote on our favourite and use that. This, I intend to get done by the fifth day of my term.

Party Policies

People need to know what a party stands for, and so the basis of our policies will need to get done. Everything I used from the DSP will be scrapped - we need a completely fresh slate. There's no known time frame for this, but I want to get at least three finalised before my term is up.

Community Building

A range of methods will be used to build our community. I'll request an erepublik.co.uk forum for those who use the forum, IRC will be used for those who prefer IRC, and I also hope to set up a Skype group for the party for those of us who aren't stuck in the 90s.

Inter-party Relations

International affiliates of the DSP have been informed of the merge already, and I'm going to try to maintain relations with every PP in the eUK to avoid a similar partition in the community between the previous top parties. Contact with other PP's will be made immediately after the election, as building relationships with parties is a permanently ongoing process.

Congress Elections

Every member who wants to run for congress should message me before 23rd December should I become elected. You'll also be asked to sign your name on the list of candidates. This is the way that spots will be decided -
*If you want to be at the top of our congress list, you should start proving your activity now. The more active you are, the higher you'll place.
*Your past history and experience is meaningless to your position - those who are willing to put in the work to make the eUK a better place for all will be rewarded with the highest placement.
*Your history will be checked to eliminate potential PTO threats
*The top four places will be decided based on a party poll.

We might be open to deals with smaller parties in our first month, but again, this is up to a majority vote.

I hope you elect me on the 15th, and we can begin to move the party forward to reach our full potential.
