[POTUS] Changing the Conversation

Day 2,977, 10:28 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

First off, we beat Indonesia again. The country is wiped and back into USA control, so thank you to all who fought for the USA, whether you are a citizen or an ally. The battle for Java was relatively close, and there was resistance to our landing in Papua, but overall our country prevailed once more and pushed them back. The fight isn’t over; however, and I will get more into that towards the end of the article. I would like to make a note that despite what we may do in this game regarding wars, we never wish for actual harm to befall players in eRep. My thoughts and prayers are with those who may have been affected by the attacks in Jakarta.

Secondly, Hale26 has been completing his reviews of our DoCA programs in order for us to truly evaluate their current effectiveness and sustainability. What this will bring is changes to DoCA’s program structure in the future, and I look forward to future results. As you may have read in the latest WHPR, there is an ongoing media contest for the next few weeks, and you can write literally anything and it will be considered for awards. I wanted this program to encourage media this month, and I look forward to people writing more.

Lastly, I’ve been hearing a lot lately about boredom. That our current foreign policy stance is boring, that our wars are boring, or that government is boring. And you know what? I get it. I’m bored as well. Most of my activity as President so far has been to concentrate on the Indonesian war of occupation, which I myself think is boring. I’d like to focus more on diplomacy. I’d like to focus more on domestic programs. Or just a good old fashioned brawl in the USA. Simply put, this is boring to me. The point I am making is that all of us play the game for a different reason. Some of us like points in a battle, some of us like writing, some of us like to chat with the people in the game. Some of us just like to stir the pot a little bit. And that’s alright. I’d like to explore the ways I can improve the game for others, especially newer players whom this game should truly belong to.

Well here is some interesting news some of you may not know. For the past few weeks, the administration has been hearing of and receiving threats of attack against the USA over our position in Indonesia. You can probably guess the group of nations most interested in this effort. After discussing it with my cabinet, as well as a briefing in congress, I have made a decision to call the bluff. If these nations truly want to liberate Indonesia from the United States, they are welcome to try. I might not be completely interested in war, but I know our country has been itching for another good fight due to our relative safety the past few years. We could simply withdraw from Indonesia to avoid this conflict.

However, I don’t believe the USA needs to back down over the simple threat of force, especially when we have already won previous wars. It also appears that seeking military solutions to our presence only seems to harden US opinion on the occupation. I know that we will stand united against any attack upon the United States, and I know our population will enjoy the fight should it come to our borders. Just as Indonesia will not give up the fight, neither will we. I look forward to the comments section, and if it is to be, the conflict ahead of us.
