[N7D] Beware the NIDs of March
Plugson
The NID tradition is reborn.
The NID tradition is redoubled.
Hail to the N7D!
Once a monthly tradition that flourished in eCanada on the 17th of each month, National Insult Day has returned for a special announcement on Day 1,577.
NID founder, Gherk, would like to return us to those Halcyon Days, so he is sponsoring double the contests: one for our veteran eCan community and the other for our recently established eUSA franchise.
Both offer a 4 Gold prize!
Rules are basic. Publish a picture/cartoon article on the 17th, or ask someone to do it for you (Gherk in the eUSA, Plugson in eCanada), vote, laugh, and possibly reap the 4 Gold reward, as chosen by our judging panel:
--Captain Kushskins and Gherk in eUSA
--Plugson and ‘Surprise Judge’ in eCanada

Submit your article between 00:00 an 23:59 on Day 1779 (March 17th) to be entered to win.
If you post it early that is okay too.
😁^I'll assume you meant Day 1579? 😛
I'll give a small prize if people can tell me how many 7s there are in
Pic #1 (Mission summary)
&
Pic #2 (Logo)
In the first pic:
13 sevens, not counting the ones inside the black pics.
62 if you count every seven in the little black pics.
174 sevens if you count the crosses as sevens too.
In the second pic:
8 sevens.
24 if you count the crosses.
Is this what you were looking for, Plugson?
Ms. Valentine, yes that was the gist of it. ach, I was aiming for 7 (not including crosses), yet I did chop the corner, so that made another. What if it was a clock face? (maybe the bottom arm is too long)
First pic: 13? Not 10? I must be missing something.
Holding out to see who has another count. Will announce your prize in the NID Winners article.
Hey Plugson, I just may participate if I can think of something witty.
Regarding the number of 7's I say there are 50 in the first pic. 7 in each of the black pictures, of which there are 7 in mission summary, which is a total of 49. And then because it's easy to miss, there is one more 7, as the picture clearly states the mission ends on day 1587...
As for picture two, the actual black logo there are 6 stylized 7's placed on the image, but their careful placement creates a seventh 7, out of the red lines in the top right hand corner. The crosses themselves however being perpendicular angles as opposed to acute angles, in my opinion prevent their inclusion in the count.
Then again, if you are getting really obscure about the definition of "in" each picture, then I would have to include the number of 7's in the material each picture links to.
Which is 40 7's in the material pic 1 links to, and 23 on the youtube page pic 2 links to. That of course is subject to change as videos get viewed which will skew that total.

~~you missed the 2 sevens in the **** and the **** pic, Goran.
But the rest was way more than expected. I need some more judges to rate these replies.
Oh you dirty *$@!!! My monitor res is too high to see those ones from my normal viewing distance. Curse you desktop real-estate!!

I imagine that there's actually only supposed to be 7 sevens in the logo but ironically, there are actually 8. There are the 6 stylized 7s in the top right corner, around that 7th seven that Goran counted. But when you count that seven as a corner along with the crosses together it forms an 8th seven. I mean that's the whole point of the logo, right? So that when it's zoomed out it looks like 1 seven and then when you zoom in you're all like, "Oh wait there are another 7 sevens there".
So, if each logo is in fact 8 sevens then 7 of those in the mission is 56. Plus one in Day 1,587 (I feel special for seeing it before reading Goran's comment) and two more in the calendars of the work and train mission aspects makes 59.
I'm not entirely sure that we shouldn't count the crosses, though. Yeah, it's a perpendicular angle but while they're certainly less common they do exist. Yeah, it's probably pushing it a little but that's the point of these "how many rectangles are in this rectangle" kind of puzzles, isn't it? If that's the case I count 5 or even 9 sevens per cross leading to either 18 or 26 7s per logo, leading to 126 or 182 sevens in the mission, before adding the 1 or 3 additional 7s (Day 1,587, calendars). So 129 or 185 max. I really don't think you can stretch it much past that but I suppose it's possible.
bah I thought it was a trick question! 😛
As for the 13 sevens in pic 1 (not including the sevens in the logos):
(7)-there are 7 seven logos
(1)-"Day 1587" has a seven
(2)-the two mini calenders next to the factory and traning building have a seven in them
(3)-"Bu77hur7 Brigade" 🙁
@KV ~ technically, that is not part of the 'mission pic' since it is a separate file...but now I see where you got the extra 3. I'll see what the judges say about counting cross sections.
777 means all permissions
so I 7hink all in7erpre7at7ons are accep7able
be77er get your chequebook ready plugson
oops I made a 7ypo
I think I won or at least part-won. Yay! Thanks a lot.
