Well, this Empress day is a epic/historic one - the longest event yet xD But it's all right now when Bayonetta has won. All hail the new Empress !!! And a perfect track to celebrate the victory xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKpw2plbgpE
Because of recurring malware problems on my main PC, I wasn't able to log on every day, or post articles in a timely manner. It's been to the shop four times and now it's still having problems.
You should be more careful and visit only trusted sites. Not to mention a good anti-virus ( aka internet security version ) and a decent anti-malware program.
Thanks. :🙂 I thought the one I used, Windows Defender, was good, but it didn't find anything. Best Buy installed a n3ew one, which says it removes the malware when it's run, but then a few days later it will pop up ads in Chrome again and I'll have to re-fix it.
I've literally brought the computer in four times to two different places, and they don't seem any closer to a permanent fix.
And now a fifth time today. >_< See you all tomorrow, or maybe next week.
Don't rely on such programs. They only give you basic protection at the best...You should try this - https://www.malwarebytes.org/ It's easy to find a serial for premium version on youtube xD
That is the one I've been using, that removes it for a few days only to have it pop up again, every single time. Today it didn't even take a few days -- within fifteen minutes of cleaning. I cleared the cache too -- didn't help in the slightest.
So much about that xD I don't know, it should delete it when it register it, so the fact that it always shows up again means that some site/program is alway infecting your comp again and again and again
You should check out Kaspersky IS as well..been using it for years, works like a charm.
Sounds like its time for a factory reset or manual format/reinstall. That is supposed to get done every couple years anyway, but no one does it until something like this happens.
Malwarebytes is a good program but if you caught the chrome bug I did a few months ago you'll need to manually hunt down files, and delete them and use a specific program to nail the rest it was a nightmare.
I don't use a single malware or antivirus software, I visit all sort of sites and download loads of stuff, yet I've never had a problem with any of those.
I always keep backups of my system in case something goes wrong, and I reinstall Windows completely every 4~6 months.
Some of the stuff you should definitely check out are Malwarebytes and Spybot.
This time, tech support found a Chrome extension that was apparently causing the popups. Evidently clearing Chrome's history doesn't get rid of extensions... although it bothers me that it was able to install an extension without ever being approved by me. Still, I'm hoping this solves it.
Actually, it should be asking you for permission regardless of anything else as long as it's a Chrome extension.
Believe me, if this had ever asked permission to install on Chrome I would know it.
