[eIndia] At the Crossroads

Dear Citizens and People of India,
In the announcement article for the CoT Referendum, I had mentioned that I would be presenting the key considerations we need to be aware about while deciding on the Referendum. This article broadly covers those points.
The Circle of Trust (CoT) Alliance was a new alliance founded by Bulgaria and Chile after they existed from their then alliances. At that time India was one of the countries which was offered to be a founding member, but we declined.
Today, CoT is an alliance consisting of 14 countries and 1 trial member. The current members are Bulgaria, Belgium, Chile, Japan, Indonesia, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Macedonia, Moldova, South Korea and Switzerland. US is currently a Trial Member of CoT.
The main principle on which the alliance was formed was ‘Equality to all members’. This approach was different from other alliances which focused mainly towards damage contribution. All countries, irrespective of their size have the same rights within CoT and each member is treated fairly and at par.
CoT took into its fold many of the smaller and undeveloped countries and assisted them in becoming stronger nations. Many of these countries also experienced baby booms such as Chile, Peru, Mexico etc under the guidance of CoT. They have a strong history and track record of achieving successful baby booms for their member nations.
India shares a unique and long friendship with one of the founders of CoT, Bulgaria. There is a history of both countries giving each other unconditional support in times of need in spite of being parts of opposing camps. We have always had enormous mutual respect towards each other that we cherish even today.
By joining CoT we will have the opportunity to have strong MPPs with all the members of CoT. These very nations helped us when we were at war with Croatia, in spite of not being a part of the alliance. CoT member nations like Bulgaria, Indonesia, Chile, Macedonia, Mexico and Moldova gave their full support. We have been building strong relations with all the member nations in CoT.
We will have a strong regional ally in Indonesia. I have been speaking to them and we share a lot of common interests in the region and can work towards mutual development for each other.
Another factor we need to consider is that currently we share borders with Croatia and Thailand. Croatia is part of EDEN and Thailand is an Associate Country of TWO (ACT). While CoT is at war with EDEN, CoT and TWO have been mutually co-operating for the benefit of each other. However, the scenario may change in the future depending on how the geopolitical situation develops going forward.
Keeping the above things in mind, I request each and every citizen to use their honest judgement and decide what is the best course for the country
When we vote on the Referendum, let us keep in mind the honour and integrity that we as a nation have always stood for and put those values before us. Chose well, citizens, for the future of the nation is in your hands!!
Jai Hind!!

I'm in favour of joining CoT but I want to ask a question.
On base of that principle "Equality to all members" how long the trial term will be and then, what "equality" is for those country's during the trial ?
Jai Hind !
the trial was 1 month, it has been changed to 3 months as the member count has increased and hence more time is needed to get used to everyone.
After that the only limitation is that for 4 months the country is not included in the rotation of the SC. While the country is a trial member it has all the rights of a full member except it is not included in the rotation of the SC and so it cannot preside over the alliance and it cannot vote on decisions, though it can be present at summits.
The SC rotation might have to be adjusted as when it was envisioned the members ere feer and as working fine, no with many more members it might take 4-5 months for a country to rotate back to preside the alliance, this however is a result of the evolution of the alliance and it will have to adjust accordingly, this is another function of the court to look into "problems" like that and propose changes to the charter accordingly.
Thank you
CoT
