[eDiet] How to Get Involved

Day 1,503, 15:11 Published in Japan Japan by Sophia Forrester

Today's article is a tutorial on what the Diet is, how it works and how to get involved.

Every month on the twenty-fifth, eJapan (like all eRepublik nations) has elections for Congress. Our Congress is called the Imperial Diet, and its members, called Representatives, have the ultimate responsibility for everything done by our government. The Representatives, likewise, are responsible to the people of eJapan.

Debate in the Imperial Diet is held in the Nipponblog.net forums. If you have not yet used the forums before, you will need to register and post in the Citizens Signup thread to verify your citizenship.

Approved citizens will see the Congress forum under Government and Politics.

Click on the Congress forum, and you will see several topics, which is how the forum organizes discussions. More recent topics appear toward the top of the page, and past topics are closer to the bottom.

There are two main kinds of topics: [Discussion] and [Vote].

[Discussion] topics are for both Representatives and citizens to debate our country's policies.

[Vote] topics are to get the official opinion of the Diet on an issue. Only Representatives are allowed to vote, and usually votes are pretty short, with the details of each Representative's position explained in a [Discussion].

To join in with a [Discussion], click on Post Reply at the top or bottom of the page, and enter your comment in the box. I hope both citizens and Representatives can join in, and come up with ideas to help eJapan!

I hope that more of our citizens can participate in the discussions in our Diet. If anyone has trouble accessing the forum, please message me, Sophia Forrester, in-game and I will do my best to help.
