Citizen's of the Republic,

Today has been a great day for Ireland. Yesterday we were faced with the fear of a proposed Chinese airstrike on our nation. Last week China accumulated a total damage of 49,566,952,629, this is roughly 11 times Ireland's damage of 4,245,928,404. Should we have faced a direct war with them, we would have faced an incredibly tough opposition, much tougher than Moldova. China also signed MPP's with Asteria's strongest nations including Argentina and Serbia which would have greatly increased their strength on the battlefield. Our government immediately needed a plan.

We planned to immediately remove China from the map, they had two regions and also had two open resistance wars against Chile and Croatia. We had only a narrow window to wipe them from the map thus letting game mechanics step in and abort their airstrike. Immediately we set about working, I requested a mere budget of only 20'000cc off of our Minister of Finance, Nogin the Nog, to fund this war. This money was then passed on to Don Croata our Minister of Foreign Affairs who was overseeing the battles during the night shift. Tactfully done, CO's were placed to keep the Chinese at bay, a CO war erupted and at stages the CO for Division 2 went over 200cc per million damage. However through clever management, across three battles we spent only 15'800cc. Money well spent.

This success would not be possible without the hard work of Don Croata and Cro Ronin. A special thank you to Croatian CP, Khutawyra101, who stayed up late during the night to ensure China would be wiped in time, the people of Ireland salute you and are in debt to you.

However the war versus Asteria is not over.
