[CP] Weekly Report - Week 2

Day 1,763, 05:34 Published in Belgium Belgium by eBelgian Presidency

Dear eBelgians,

This is as you figured out my second weekly report of government progress. We’ve shifted into second gear for a bunch of departments and started with some realisations:

Finance:
The Land grant programs have been suspended after a congress vote.
We’ve opened the debate about trying to find a better income. After some work in the cabinet, SX80 has made a clear situation sketch in congress that you can find here: http://www.erepbelgium.com/t7370-tax-revenue-and-country-expenses#145313. A vote should be brought up in game today to propose 5% VAT and 5% import taxes in the weapons market to attempt to make the prices in our market more competitive and bring back a more important trade volume.
The military is also looking for possibilities to make further cuts in expenses. None of the SO will take the legally foreseen SO compensation and tecuvo will try to build more raw material companies to reduce the future recurring costs of raw materials if he manages to convince congress to give him a loan.

Foreign Affairs:
As you’ve found in the midweek article, Foreign Affairs is still out there to help you get informed about the status of the eWorld. McKitKat has been working on a presentation of our allies this past week and you will find a first article has come your way today on this topic, more will follow. We are making the necessary preparations to renew our Mutual Protection Pacts with our allies.

Defense:
The Defense department has managed several MoD strikes, I’m hoping to see plenty more of you who are not in the army participate in these strikes. The timing of the next one will be announced soon. We have been fighting to help Chile gain and maintain a few stable regions to help their babyboom generation grow. This operation has been a success so far and I wish to send a special thanks to our military who has helped to make this happen through frequent strikes and clear and present orders at any time of the day.

Immigration:
So far we’ve had a total of 11 requests for eBelgian citizenship, 2 have been accepted through the legal procedure, 1 congressman, shadowukcs, has failed to respect the foreseen immigration procedure by accepting a third citizen without approval of one of the immigration officers and has been sanctioned.

All infractions since August 8th have been listed and the necessary measures were taken. The list can be consulted here: http://www.erepbelgium.com/t7316-list-immigration-offences.

Next to that, we can inform you that the entire government works relentlessly through private contacts to keep our relations within the Circle of Trust and other friendly countries optimal. Despite that some seem to believe we're just wasting time, our work is not always visible.

As a last note, I must announce that MaryamQ’s decoration team has struck the offices of Cooke4444 and Viridi. They will now have to live with a first wall decorated with pink wallpaper.

Nohjis,
President of eBelgium
