{CP} CP Update 6 - Update and Final thoughts

Day 3,059, 23:00 Published in Australia Australia by Aus Prime Minister Office

Hi eAustralia.

Sorry for the delay in the update, but with RL travel and the CP elections happening, I thought I would hold off for a few days and then kill two birds with one paper. I know the government has been keeping eAustralia informed and updated via it's different departments, DoD releasing the Daily Orders, the DoFA releasing there MPP Proposal Papers and so on.

But now, I will do one last final update and also write some final words on this term. While the final words will be written today (eRep 3,059) rest assured, the government will continue to function until the votes are all counted and checked, before the hand over to the newly elected CP happens.

Congress Happenings

Congress is still ticking away, working on proposals being presented. While it at times seems quiet and at other times seems to be side tracked, it still remains one of the ways the government can keep congress members informed of what is happening.

As each proposal is present to you the public, it also is presented in congress. However it is to be noted, some proposals do not make it pass the Cabinet, due to different reasons (Note: all of these proposal's that did not go to congress, will be passed onto the new government to ensure they are aware of any actions/idea's that were presented in the past).

MPP Renewals

The government has renewed it's MPP's with the eUSA and also eJapan. The eUSA one past with a close majority and the eIran proposal to us was voted No to a 50/50 split. This highlights the fact that even with MPP Renewals it is not as straight forward as previous people believe. Changes in different government policies on both sides, come into play when people cast there votes. Also what comes into play is the different congress make up, some people see some allies as being more beneficial to the country, while others not so beneficial.

eJapan was also signed into effect. This MPP continues to show our long standing relation with the Japanese government and will hopefully allow further close co-operation with them on all matters.

While no more MPPs will signed this term, your government realises that in a few days time, the new administration will be faced with further MPP Renewals, so the DoF will ensure there is money available for these to be signed and the DoFA will start looking into doing the ground work for them.

These MPP Renewals include a relatively new one of ePhilippines and an old one of eNetherlands. The eIran one will not be proposed by eAustralia at the request of Iran. However eAustralia will stay Committed to our long time friends eIran and the DoD will set DO's if they need any extra damage. Like many nations in eRep, even if eAustralia does not have an official MPP with them, we will still stand shoulder to shoulder with them on the battle field.

CP Elections

The current CP Elections are still on going. So I urge all those who are yet to vote, get out there and make your voice/mouse click be heard. eAustralia is luckily to have 3 good contenders running and in my own personal opinion, eAustralia is lucky to have had all 3 release papers to describe a bit about there plans.

I strongly believe who ever takes the CP Chair at the end of eRep Day 3,060, will be taking over a country which has had a very long and steady history. Some might say boring, but at least, due to you the citizens of eAustralia, it has been safe and secure. I also believe the country will continue to have a strong and steady leadership, no matter which of the 3 win.

The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race series 2 started off in eAustralia the other day. This is something that was made by private individuals to increase the activity and 'fun' levels in this game. Before I speak more about it, I do want to say something's to those who read the article and took part in it.

Eraclev was the one who came up with the questions. I know some anger has been expressed about these questions, but the anger should be aimed at me and not him. I had planned on sending the list of Q&A to him, to put in the article. However due to RL movements and lack of stable internet during these travels, I could not do it in time. So Reaclev stepped up and found some Q&A to ensure his idea/project kept on track. So for those who complained, complain to me about it, not him. He has worked tirelessly on this project from day dot. He doesn't get paid, but does it for his own enjoyment.

I would also like to say Thank you to Thedillpickl for publishing the article. He helped out, even though he was not apart of the Amazing Race production team.

Now that is stated, we here in the eAustralian government were delighted in seeing how much this Amazing Race Program has grown. It's contestant base has grown hugely since the first season and the activity levels of those involved has been great to see.

The eAustralian government wishes all it's contestants all the best in the future episodes in this season and also hopes to take part in any further seasons coming up.

Final Thoughts....

Well now for my final thoughts and ponderings. So if you don't want to hear me dribble on (I am guessing that will be quite a few of you), feel free to go back to clicking elsewhere.

I will try and address my final thoughts in each departmental section. While each department will bring out there own Newspapers to talk in brief about the departments final wrap ups, I will say a few words here as well. Call it a more personal thoughts, rather then straight facts and figures.

Department of Defence has managed to provide eAustralia with clear and updated DOs through out this term. While a lot were just normal Training War orders, the DoD managed to ensure when other battles needed priority, the orders were updated to reflect that. This came about due to the great co-operation between Cody Caine and Kattrrina in producing these, even when they both have had RL commitments to attend to, is a great pleasure to see.

While I had hopped to see a sort of Damage Weekly Wrap Up done, I understand the realities that was faced by these two players with balancing the game life and real life prevented that. And since Damage Wrap Up doesn't need to be provided by a government department, I will be looking at seeing if I can arrange something on the side to get it done. It might be well received by eAustralia or it might not, but it will be interesting to try.

Department of Entertainment and Education has unfortunately been sub par this term. The blame fully rests on my shoulders for this. At the start of the term, my MoEE had to take time away from eRep and then ended up leaving for another country. Rather then replace him, I put it in the not so urgent pile and ended up only brushing over it when the government helped out in Amazing Race project and a one off education article at the request of a citizen.

The DoEE has had many high's and low's in it's history here in eAustralia. Some times in the past there were very regular and informative articles and some terms there was none. While the education part can be done by anyone who knows a bit about game mechanics, the entertainment should be provided by or at least work in partnership with the eAustralian government.

This will be a challenge to any incoming government. To find someone who is both active and knowledgeable on the game. To be able to create articles that bring in the activity and fun needed for the entertainment side is a very hard task. And with the education side, it comes down to knowing or being able to decide what the audience's game knowledge is already. You want to be able to write an informative article for all, but you run the risk of making it either to advance for some (Some times I have to remind myself, not everyone knows what acronym's stand for and which ones are known), but also informative for all and not aimed just at the complete new players. It is a fine balancing act and one that is a lot of hard work to do, while the player balances there RL and role in that office position.

Department of Finance was a sticky department. T.A.X.S.I.R.A. did a great job in my own opinion. While from the outside it might not seem like that (due to lack of articles), but that is not his fault. He had his hands tied. Many of our community know about the past where eAustralia lost it's life savings. Due to this, I never gave T.A.X.S.I.R.A. the log ins for the RBA (Not from a lack of trust, but more just as an added security measure to prevent anything untoward happening). However even with this dis-advantage, T.A.X.S.I.R.A. worked tiredly everyday in communications with me. Not only in idea's and suggestions, but also in the bookkeeping side of things and chasing up Org rent and payments made.

I know for one, if he had full control of the RBA next time, the eAustralian public would be very surprised to see his efforts in effect and how hard he has worked behind the scenes.

Department of Foreign Affairs has been a very good success. DoFA work is not only about the country/country level of communication, but also the player/player level of communication. This goes down to the point where one country knows a player in an other very well and can talk openly about any FA idea's or plans. This current term the FA has done this quite well. Thedillpickl has used his contacts quite well when needed, but also been there as a sounding board for any idea's or issues that have arrived.

eAustralia has continued to strengthen it's position in the eWorld and has continued to grow friendships around the eWorld. We have established a grounding for a potential new region rental deal and also managed to ensure that we are well connected around the globe to prevent any major hostile actions, as well as ensuring that we have the support of friends and allies if things do go South in a hurry. The DoFA has been successful in navigating the very fluid environment that presented it's self every day.

CP.... a position and burden I know all to well. When anybody steps up and goes for the role of CP, they paint a giant target on their backs. This might have nothing to do with their government policies or plans, it might not have anything to do with their own personality or their way of expressing what is going on around the eWorld, it could just be down to the fact they are in that chair. But like in real life, it is the way you deal with these pressures that control how it effects you in game.

I will be the first person to admit I am not liked by all in this eWorld, I know many would of love to see me have a mental break down and go off in the media over a few things. But even though I wasn't planning on winning the CPship this term, I know when to see the actions of some as their history shows it. All in all I believe that I have achieved my main goals for my term as CP. While not all straight A's or successes, the goals I had set myself to achieved for eAustralia has been relatively successful.

The main goal was to ensure eAustralia stayed safe. Which is what happened. There were two legitimate occasions where eAustralia faced an external threat, but these were dealt with before it could disturb the sleep of our citizens. The other main goal was to increase the wealth of eAustralia, which was also successful. We managed to do this with out it effecting our taxes, without effecting our MPP stack and with out effecting the citizens of eAustralia. Sometimes people have to compromise on the money side, do they raise taxes to cover the costs, do they lower expenditure on MPPs to try and save money, or can they hold the taxes, increase expenditure and look at other ways of earning more money for the country.

The list of secondary goal's aims was a bit longer... but also the realist in me knew that they were going to be near impossible for some to be achieve😛

CS Pass - this to me was a secondary goal. While it would be great to have a system implemented to allow a smooth, open and successful CS process, the game has one weak flaw which will never allow it to be achieved.... US, the players. No matter what is written, what is agreed upon, their is no way in enforcing anyone to follow this system. Be it bringing back ASIO, working with a CS committee or an agreement signed by the different parties. No matter what is decided, you will always get players doing what they will with their CS passes, after all, it is theirs to be issued to who ever they want. However it was great to see the majority of players didn't just use them for the sake of using them or for tic for tact process.

Congress: Thread vs Forums - This was also a secondary goal for me. I was happy to see almost everyone in the second half's congress. This made it easier for presenting idea's. While like CS passes, you can never control what people write or say, whether they side track it or hijack it or troll it, that is up to the individual player to decide. But the fact that the majority of players took part in it (they might be quiet, but they do read it) is a success. With the forums, it is something that needs to be promoted more and more. However it relies on players moving to it, to ensure it is successful. I posted many different topics there and to be honest their was hardly any replies. For something to be successful, it needs precipitation. This can not be forced, but must be wanted. People need to step up and take the role seriously and choose to be apart of it.

Well, that is enough of my ramblings and ponderings. As I stated it would probably bore you, but it is my final thoughts (hence why it is full 'I' and 'In my opinion'). All in all, eAustralia needs to pull together, no matter who is in charge. Unfortunately this will never happen when you have adults playing like children or when people want to take their bat and ball and go home, because their pick didn't win. Sideline coaches need to step up and start offering solutions rather then criticisms, people need to take their blinkers off and look at the bigger picture, people also need to accept things they might not agree with and also accept that their ideas while good, might endanger eAustralia. I know I am guilty of some of those things, but I also know that when people act like adults or active members of society, they will be treated the same.

Well that is that, a final update and a long wall of text. I hope to see the other departments sending me drafts of their end of term wrap ups soon. And as always, remember if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a PM or ask in the comments below.

Rusty D,
Loyal Citizen of eAustralia

And thank you eAustralia for
