[Cordis Die] - Regiment Draft, Internal and External Competitions

Day 2,269, 10:45 Published in Canada Canada by Umbra Bellator

An update from inside one of the premiere Military Units in eCanada:

A few weeks back CD decided it was time to mix things up and they went on a recruiting spree adding various new members (myself included), but they were not done there. With the new found number of soldiers an idea to break into separate regiments was tossed around. The idea was simple, break out the soldiers and have competitions between the two new regiments, the problem? How to divide such a group of soldiers so to keep the regiments balanced.

Solution

-> Military Draft! Once the captains were chosen (TheCanadianPunk & IB😎 the task was simple, choose guys one after another until all have been chose with the last one picked ridiculed and teased to no end. But another problem arose... Connor Macleod, the eCanada Super Tank. Whichever Regiment he landed in was sure to win with ease. The MU Counsel decided to give the second captain to choose 3 straight picks to balance the damage out.

With that all sorted out all we had to do was start the draft, but then realized we had to determine how to pick who was picking first. A simple digital coin toss?

Boring.. Each captain chose 3 soldiers who would go head to head in kills with the winning teams selector choosing first in the MU draft. To avoid the same issue with Connor, we excluded him and the 2 captains from the available MU for the deciding contest. IBB prevailed and would select first.

Here are the results of the Cordis Die MU Draft:

With both sides selected it was time for a competition.

The following week the regiments went head to head, but the category which the contest was being determined was still unknown. By choosing a random criteria after the fact it prevented soldiers from simply using bazooks for kills or dropping bombs for influence and gave a true sense of what they could each do.

When all was said and done many RedCoats were defeated and as a whole Cordis Die did over 9 billion damage that week, with TCP's regiment coming out on top. The deciding factor was eventually chosen as Influence with TCP's regiment throwing down just over 5 billion damage as a whole.

Shortly after this contest word came about of a International MU contest, CD moved everyone back into their original single regiment setup to make a push for the Top 100 in eRepublik. Once the contest began we realized our efforts were in vein as the regiments were frozen at the time of the announcement, so our attention focused back to securing the top spot in Division 4 for eCanada. To our surprise the United Aggression - North division was making a BIG push for top spot and continued t push CD all week long. When all was said and done, CD was able to retain the top Division 4 slot in eCanada, and in the process TCP's regiment also cracked the top 100 coming in @ 98th overall.

We have since began reforming our regiments and will continue to come up with new and fun ways to evolve Cordis Die into a top international presence on the battlefield.

We also want to take a second and wish Connor Macleod the best of luck as he heads up the Company of Heroes MU with Pat Harper. His leadership and know-how will be very well received and eCanada's future tanks are in good hands.
