Why it's important to have friends....

Yeah, so obviously they are pretty important in RL, but the difference in inviting a few mates onto eRepublik, even if they hate these kind of games is enormous.

If you check out your associated top commanders and go through all their campaign medals, resistance war medals, super soldier x 34, hard worker x 31 ad nauseum, one empty space remains bare on all but a handful, the society builder achievement:

It's like the Oscars isn't it? But here's the rub, even if you don't succeed in getting 10 friends to level 10, inviting just a few friends along (or family) will make your eRepublik life so much easier. I've invited 19 'friends' to eRepublik with mixed results:

5 didn't even play
5 advanced to 2nd level = 0.5 gold
4 advanced to 3rd level = 0.8 gold

The other 5 are now regular players and have generated 16.7 gold between them even though they show no interest in paying for gold. If these 5 guys continue to play, then every month I'll receive 5 gold as they cycle through their Super Soldier and Hard Worker rewards.

Now that's something to get excited about isn't it?

NB: Word of warning, the administrators of the game take a very close eye on the interactions of friends, particularly in the pooling of 'resources'. Don't say you haven't been warned and keep your noses clean.
