What to do?

Obviously Plato isn't going to revert back to what worked and is keeping this activity killing change. We have two choices. Adapt or die. Clearly we're leaning towards the latter.
Yes the change is retarded. Yes they need to fix it. But I think we all know they won't. It is what it is.
So how can we get people interested again?
Politics is pointless with a dictator which makes media pretty much pointless. Campaigns and political bickering/recruiting/alliances was what held us together and kept people interested. The war aspect of this game isn't particularly interesting. It's simply a means to an end.
No that's not a dig at the current leaderships valiant attempt at reinvigorating the citizens. It's just true. Most casual players get nothing out of fighting but a depleted bank account. Yes MUs hand out weapons and food but you need to be active to know/care.
I just got back so I'm at a loss for ideas. Brainstorm with me. We could try to ditch the dictatorship and plan a counter if someone attempts it. It's retarded expensive so maybe that's not feasible.
Maybe some of the more powerful and stable MUs could take donations from their members (voluntary obviously) and ally for that specific purpose? We've managed more insane feats. We're friggin Canadians!
Now lets get stoned and eat chicken fingers!

When there's something on tv that's losing my interest, I change the channel because I don't expect the tv station to change the program for me. Someone else suggested mass exodus and i think it makes sense to keep what you like (the people) and find another game to enjoy together.
That's an option but not a very good one. I like the idea I saw tossed around to just refuse to spend money/fight wars until they fix it. Hit them in the wallet AND not have to start over.

Valid point about not being a great option. Here's a compromise:
Everyone completely stop playing/paying eRepublik for 1 month but stick together with some other kind of game to keep community going. After 30 days, send someone to check what updates have been made, and if he brings back good news, then drop anchor and start playing/paying again.

The downside: good updates may take longer than 30 days...
(i got all 5 of my synapses firing for that brainstorm *whew😉
But if we still log in they'll still have the bandwidth usage on top of diminished funds. Double whammy.
Ha, I like your approach on that one. I wonder if logging in and logging out repeatedly will cause extra wear and tear on their servers.
But seriously, it is also important to realize that the company once responsible for creating one of the most engaging social/political/economic MMO's back in 2008-09 is now tearing down what is left of that once great potential and devoting their resources to creating stuff like this:
http://pad.corp.click.jogos235.com/app/com.erepublikLabs.birthdaybunny-v1.20.html
"Can you save Easter? Help the Easter Rabbit collect chocolate eggs in this frantic family game. Get all the easter eggs without making the Rabbit fall!"
In other words, eRep Labs changed along with eRepublik the game. They just don't seem to be the same company that created what used to be an innovative and engaging MMO sandbox. Frantic Bunny, Tactical Heroes, and eRepublik (Military Module version) define what programs you can now expect from Bonte and friends.
wait.......... chicken have fingers?
we have had over 580 members cast votes thus far in the eRep forum.
The outcome is 84% believe that this dicktator update will destroy the game.

I'm part of that number lol
We don't need no water let this motherfucker burn.
Thanks. Now that's stuck in my head.
