Universally Challenged Results, Title Raffle and Royal Family Award

Day 2,423, 23:30 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Universally Challenged Results

This week the matches for Universally Challenged took place. The quiz sees teams pitched against each other in a point scrabbling head to head brawl for intellectual supremacy, much like televisions ‘University Challenge’, a rip off of my own patented format.

A lead question worth 2 points was asked, and whoever got it right was asked a further 3 bonus questions each worth 1 point. If at any point a player got their answer wrong, the opponent was given the opportunity to answer the question.

This month we only had two teams sign up, which made my life much easier, and they went head to head over three rounds. The teams were ‘Team NHS’, consisting of Alan Warwickshire, Madelina Melrose, and Dr. Kawishishishi, vs. The King Woldy Appreciation Society, for which Professor Moriarty was the sole egg head.

As not all players were available at one time it was agreed that players would be nominated for a round and go head-to-head on their subject. The rounds were History and Politics, Geography and Science, and Culture and eRepublik. The scores are as follows:

History and Politics (Madelina vs Prof.):
Team NHS - 21 points. Team KWAS - 6 points.

Geography and Science (Alan vs Prof.):
Team NHS - 17 points. Team KWAS - 21 points.

Culture and eRep (Kawashiwi vs Prof.):
Team NHS - 4 points. Team KWAS - 13 points.

Total:
NHS - 42 points, Team KWAS - 40 points!

Meaning that the winning team is the NHS!

5 gold is heading to each team member and 100 Q7 guns shall be donated to their chosen MU!
If you would like to see the questions they were asked, the link is here.

Royal Titles

If you remember last month, we shook up the Titles aspect of the Monarchy to include both a community reward in the form of the Royal Family Award, and a more entertaining form a rewards in the form of the title raffle. As we have gracefully left June for the summer rays of July, it is time again to start nominating and selecting numbers.

Royal Family Prize

The first step is to open nominations for the Royal Family Prize. For those of you who don’t know this award is aimed to reward community spirit and give something back to those who help the community. The top 3 nominees will be voted upon, and the winner will become a member of the Royal Family, receiving a title of their choosing and 1000 GBP. For last months results see here.

So, what you need to do is have a little think about any unsung heroes who deserve a mention, and fill in this form with your nomination.

In a weeks time, voting will open on your top three nominees. There are no restrictions on who you may nominate, but that they are eUK citizens.

In the mean time…

Title Raffle!

Again, if you weren’t aware the title raffle is exactly what it says on the tin!

Contestants pick a number between 1 and 30 and offer a small fee (10GBP), and with a random number generator the selection of titles are allocated their own number. Those who match win the title and possibly a cash prize.

This months titles up for grabs are:

b. Lady [PYO] + 100 GBP
c. Duke of Wellington + 10 Q7 Guns
d. Baron [PYO]
e. Rabbit of Caerbannog
f. Wench + 200 GBP
g. Roger the Stable boy
h. Gong Farmer* + 20 Q5 Food
i. Royal snake milker + 10 Q7 Guns

*It’s picking up poo, for those who don’t know

Simply comment with the number (between 1-30) that you would like, and donate your 10GBP to me to be entered. There is a one in three chance of winning and anyone can play!

The current list of who has what number is here.

The draw will be in a week!
