United States Declares War on Japan

PREPARE FOR THE EAST ASIAN WAR


Both Japan and Phoenix have made a grave error… a mistake that may prove very costly to the new Phoenix Alliance, and to a certain extent Japan. That mistake was underestimating just how important Japan is, or to be more specific, just how important Kyushu is. To understand the importance of Kyushu is really to understand the fundamental curse that is the East Asian theater. This region has the highest concentration of High Iron region in eRepublik, with 2 in China and another in India. Even more importantly, neither India nor China possess a large enough population with which to exploit the regions, leading to their occupation by foreign powers. In fact, former senior leaders of PEACE have stated the entire North American War was fought primarily to get Hungary over to Heilongjiang province and it’s High Iron. This was accomplished by using the massive MPP list against Canada, and forcing Japan into letting Indonesia through Kyushu in order to invade the United States.

In either situation, the major powers of PEACE (now Phoenix) have controlled Asia’s massive Iron reserves, and have used it to fuel large economies and their wars of aggression. For EDEN, this is an intolerable situation, and is one that they greatly desire to correct. And thus comes the question, how do you correct the problem of Phoenix having large reserves of Iron? Simple, you invade and take them over. And who is the closest major EDEN power to the living heart of Hungary and Iran’s economies? That power would be the United States. And how does the USA get to the Iron? You either go through Russia and its massive MPP list…or Kyushu. And thus, the full impact of Japan and Phoenix’s strategic error becomes clear. Kyushu is a lynch pin region. If the United States takes control, the Americans will gain a near impenetrable foothold in East Asia.

Control of Kyushu gives the US an enormous battery of strategic options. From Kyushu, the USA can invade Indonesian held East China. With all the MPP’s activated from the North American War, Indonesia will almost certainly lose its token regions and be permanently removed as a potential threat to American borders. But that is not all. From Kyushu, the USA can invade Japanese held South Korea, which is not Japanese home territory. That means even with their shiny new Hungarian MPP, the US need not activate it, since Kyushu is the only region that matters. And while Hungary could try to fix this issue by resistance warring South Korea, it would be a useless gesture since South Korea is ruled by the Theocrats, who would just region swap with the USA anyhow. And thus, South Korea becomes a highway into the economic heartland of Phoenix, all the way to Iran’s precious Liaoning province (A High Iron region). The only thing that bars the way would be Russian held North Korea and its own list of activated MPP’s. Russia could Resistance War these territories, but that would be a stop gap method, as all the USA would have to do is declare war on North Korea or just PTO the country. This in mind, the most likely scenario would be a showdown between the Russian and American MPP’s in North Korea, with Phoenix going all out to halt the US offensive and then attempt a counterattack to drive US forces out of Asia.

So what does this mean for Japan? It probably means Tokyo will remain completely free of the hated Gaijin, since Japan is not really worth anything to the United States. The only province that matters is Kyushu. American control of Kyushu will sweep Indonesia out of Eastern China, put the United States into striking range of a coveted High Iron region and bring a significant EDEN presence into East Asia, which for too long has been the playground of Indonesia and Iran. In the long term, this is honestly the best thing that could happen to Japan and the rest of Asia (apart from losing Kyushu). The USA most likely has no intention or desire to erase Japan since, as was stated earlier, the rest of Japan has nothing of value. Furthermore, the USA would be able to at last extend direct support to China which for months now has lived under the gun. With common borders, China could even initiate region swaps, to extend an American presence towards India, and put the US within striking range of Iran’s token region’s and Indonesia’s coveted Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

And all the US needs to do is take Kyushu. No doubt the lamps are going to burn late into the night at the brand new Phoenix headquarters, as Hungary and Indonesia try and figure out a way to counter this latest move by EDEN. It’s clear the brains behind Phoenix’s international defense team were expecting an American attack on the UK, rather then a major offensive into Asia. Why they never foresaw a power play towards such a critically important region like Kyushu is baffling, but I am sure nobody over at EDEN headquarters is going to complain. And neither will the US, that is certain. If the United States wins this war to its ultimate conclusion, we will have a High Iron region, a critical resource we have always lacked. This will transform the American economy into a major force, and greatly reduce overhead costs for our military. Even more importantly, Iran will lose their High Iron, and the USA will be within sight of Hungary's coveted Heilongjiang. And for Hungary. they will be stuck watching the entire thing because the USA was successful in resistance warring Jillin province and isolating Heilongjiang from Iran's Chinese territory.

So tomorrow, the USA sets out on its first offensive war since French Toast. And this time, the stakes are not “lulz”. The stakes are freedom for China and India from Phoenix tyranny, and the greater power and glory of the United States of America and EDEN!
