Day 1,308 of the New World
"...and the earth died screaming, while I lay dreaming..."
— Tom Waits

As an Easy Company member and journalist, I want to suggest the following proposal to our Nations Military specialists. I want to talk about DoD.

The current DoD orders paper lists much good information, and provided it is kept up-to-date, it is our best hope (other than a script) for getting orders into the hands of the populace, and for drawing them into deeper military involvement. We all know the major damage is being done by the formal militaries and militias with their highly organized infrastructures and communications channels. But directing citizen damage is important, even if only for the sake of morale.

I propose the following nuances be added to our current National protocol. The aim is to maximize our National response to DoD orders.

(Note: all times quoted will be eRep system time. The times chosen are a suggestion, the clocks can be adjusted based on the informed wisdom of our National Defense Team)

~~~~~Citizens should be requested to put themselves on a 0700, 1400, and 2000 “damage clock”. In other words, Citizens should be guaranteed that DoD orders will be updated at those times, and they should attempt to save their fights until those times, after which they spend their damage and reset their health clocks.
~~~~~DoD should further assign battles a priority according to the following parameters, Priority 1: do not work in any company, train, then spend your entire health allotment on damage; Priority 2: Work in your companies first, then fight. Additional accommodation can be made to ask citizens to hold damage until some later time if it is somehow strategic to ask that.

~~~~~DoD orders should be cross-published in all Media Categories. It takes less than 2 minutes to copy/paste the BBCode into a fresh newspaper page, then publish it in another Media category. A citizen should find DoD regardless of what Media Category he/she clicks into. Once there are 6 copies out there (it takes 60 minutes’ wait between publications) it will not be hard to put them on a rotation for being refreshed. The Media Module offers very liberal options for editing, not just content but title also. It is not difficult to maintain a top presence in all 6 categories at all times provided you keep getting the votes. I can share details of how this should be coordinated if anyone cares to ask.
~~~~~All military personnel should be ordered to vote for DoD orders – in all 6 Media categories. Again, this takes mere moments, but will guarantee DoD the top Media spot it deserves – at least in such dire circumstances as the present.

~~~~~Part of DoD orders should include actually voting for DoD orders.
~~~~~National give-away programs such as Bewbs 4 Newbs and Arm America should offer bonuses during special “Hot Zones” – for instance during the 30 minutes leading up to the 3 main changeovers (0700, 1400, 2000), thus further focusing the Citizen damage such as it is. Citizens requesting supplies during these times get extra.

These changes woul😛
~~~~~give DoD some more detailed control over directing citizen damage,
~~~~~give citizens a sense of participation, possibly drawing many into military membership of some kind,
~~~~~dramatically increase readership of DoD,
~~~~~hold DoD accountable to have updated orders,
~~~~~unite our Citizenry around National Defense,
~~~~~increase participation in our National Media,
~~~~~ensure that our Citizenry is part of a highly organized communications system that can be made available for other emergencies that may arise (such as evacuation orders).
I humbly request that the aforementioned changes be discussed at the highest levels as soon as possible, and unless a better plan is proposed, that this one be implemented.
