The Retention of Newbies
Xicor13
I will be putting my views on how we should look to retention of players, keeping in mind that the current one is brilliant as well and with all due respect to the current Retention Program,I would proceed
Read the points if you want a summary, the whole paragraph for the definition.
I see that all of the newbies,no matter how nooblike, dont go and battle as their first thing, they follow missions till it comes to a stage where they are bored and want some action and go to the battlefield and with the Town Hall thing, even having 100+ q1 food, they cant refill 100+ health with the capability of restoring 200 health. This is the very first question which comes to mind when I see people giving food to new players. Maan, they have food, just lack the hours behind them to use it and grow,if rather than that 30 q5 food or 300 wellness, you send them 5 q5 weapons, they'll be happier with that toy.
Main points of the above Paragraph
1) The welcome message by the president should contain a nice welcome accompannied by a tutorial to last the first 14 days at least
2) The food you'd send is generally of no use to the new guys, they need upgrading townhalls to consume, this needs to be told to them and to the team as well
3) Send them weapons instead and they'd be happier and do everyone some good. If you dont think thats what needs to done then, just let it be because I seriously think supplying food is no help
This paragraph will be in context to the message the president/Retention person sends
You need to put all the basics in there rather than asking new guys to look for tutorials in the forum which are hard to search. Add the links with some short summaries of the hyperlink attatched or give them the forum link to the thread but be appropriate rather than looking for new people to do everything on their own.....
Feel free to give a comment,I'll not be the most active newspaper because of exams, but I will be posting my views accompanied by some ideas 🙂

Be practical. I think there's a limit to how much can be put in a welcome message.
@goba ~ a link to a newbie guide can be incorporated in the welcome message...
Yup agree on the point of links - though do note, html codes do not work in NCM's anymore - so it'll just be a plain link.
As for weps instead of food - this has been debated before. I personally don't think that's such a good idea. Health refills every hour. 300 wellness enables newbies to fight more - just a matter of 2 refills in a day (where they have option of 24 refills a day). And imo to fight more is what most newbies want - and leveling up helps them access other options faster - thus retain them more. Just my opinion of course.

I don't agree, if they want weapons to fight, since they don't need to buy food they can actually buy weapons the jobs in the market are paying well, so they don't need to worry about it, they get good pay they can buy weapons.
Since a newbie can lvl upto 20 In a week he/she can gain 20G's which is capable of setting up 2 companies in a week, and in two weeks he/she can also get a newspaper, enough gold to get a Q3 town center.
Weapons for newbie's are totally of waste, it doesn't affect the dmg of the newbie, nor does it helps to change the battle fate, hence spending money to buy them free weapons are useless and it can be better used to buy weapons in case of emergencies for ppl above 3K str.
Obviously Im not a seasoned player. These were my thoughts only 😛.
My new article coming soon in finance sector.
Btw the retention team should check the canadian prgram. I read their paper and its brilliant
