Hello citizens,

Thanks for your support in the previous article and now I’ll introduce you to my plan for my Presidency.

Since the Moldavian invasion we’ve been shockingly unprepared for a large scale defence. There was no system in place as it was last minute preparations which went out the window very rapidly. Moldova and Romania identified this clearly and we were just an easy airstrike target to them. Without the help from our neighbours, UK we would have seen another long-term wipe from the map.

The plan to resolve our defence issues are as follow:

• Establish a dedicated defence team

To win battles you simply need a dedicated working team running behind the scenes constantly sending supplies at critical times. The plan is to get Captains more of a role by assisting the Ministry of Defence.

• Continue messaging threads between Irish Military Unit Commanders

This has been one of the most successful implementations in place and it provides us a consistent communication line with MU Commanders. It allows us to send direct orders from the Aurora HQs to all MU Commanders in one single thread. Remember, we all work together, not as individuals.

• Create a mass mailing system for all Irish soldiers

What I think is badly needed is a messaging thread system similar to Eire Messaging Thread where each MU’s soldiers will receive their daily orders and regular updates. This allows soldiers to understand what they’re fighting for and in return allows us to be more effective fighting unit on the battlefield.

• Re-Establish IRC communication

I always stress that IRC is the core of winning battles at critical times. Why? Because it gives an instant communication system and allows information to flow quickly. To encourage the use of IRC you’ll be given a supply bonus as an incentive for attending national strikes.

Communication

Communication is the core of my Presidency. We need a consistent dialogue from the top to the bottom. I fully support An Sluagh’s implementation of an [Eire Mass Messaging] system. This project enables us to assist our citizens daily and become an efficient force. Every single citizen will receive a message directing them to battle priorities and important updates from the government.

I like to encourage a leader’s question session hosted on IRC where citizens have the opportunity to ask myself or any government official questions on the running of the country. This is your chance to criticize and open up discussions for new ideas. However I will not tolerate any form of trolling. It is planned that I will host it every Sunday week at 12.00 eRepublik time (8 pm Irish time).

Sweet Drinker has explored an idea where can use an old article as a forum idea. It is well known that forums always fail due to being hosted on external websites. This idea may find us a solution to this problem and I feel it is worth exploring. The concept is quite simple really and there is no registration required. All we need to do is locate an old article where we can host our discussions.

Other plans

• Our citizens in need should be assisted by our government everyday through food drops, social schemes etc... It is essential that the welfare of our citizens are well looked after.

• Update citizens on international foreign affairs as everyone wishes to know what’s going on outside Ireland! I know you do 😉

• Engage in as many Aurora operations as possible to keep increasing our international portfolio. The Greek campaign certainly raised a few eyebrows but standing up to a super power is always a brave act and gets us more respected.
