1st Edition

Hello! And welcome to the First Edition of this brand new newspaper The Mungunghawa Dispatch! Created and edited by South Korea's very own Myung Kei, resident of the reborn eSouth Korea. To commemorate this fantastic event, the editor has decided to correlate the beginning of a new eSK with the founding of this newspaper; the symbolic flower that Real Life South Korea calls its "National Flower", the Hibiscus, or Mugunghwa, where this newspaper derives its name.
The Mungunghwa Dispatch will be credited to more than just simply delivering the news, but also editorials, letters to the editor, facts about the day, sayings, as well as much more. The Editor would like to express that as the issues develop and grow, the articulation and sophistication of the news pieces and other information we bring to you will also develop. Thank You.

Top Story: A Renewed Country, An Hopeful Future

As South Korean residents, Japanese citizens, as well as people around the world alike know... especially residents of Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea has been placed back on the map, ready and waiting to take control of its own future. With an active group of players, a potentially stable financial situation, and overall good relations with eRepublik nations around the globe, it appears as though South Korea is ready to stand for itself and transform into a resemblance of its real life counterpart. As custom to give credit where it is due, many thank Japan, just as the editor believes, for their guiding hand and devoted protection in watching over South Korea. This shows that Japan and South Korea will have a strong and close bond between one another in the future, something that definitely no one wants to squander.
Yet there is still plenty of work to be done before the nation can fully enjoy its independence, the nation currently compromises of only one region, Gyeongsangnam-do, with 8 other regions still needing to be liberated. The economy is off to a good start, but the national treasury is completely empty, with thousands of KRW (South Korean Won) being withheld in private hands, although most of it generously awaiting to be placed in an official bank. Last being the only formal relations South Korea currently enjoys is with Japan, although there are several citizens that are willing to step up to the plate and become envoys to several other nations in the vicinity and around the globe.

Here is what YOU, the average citizen can do to help our fledgling nation:

-Vote. The Congress elections are on the 25th, the main forum and IRC base have already compiled a list of candidates that will run for the first Congress to prevent a PTO.This list can be found by clicking here (yes, the editor is aware that it is a VERY hot picture).

-Be Active on the Forums and on the IRC, there is no need to be shy, many of the active players on the Forums and the IRC are willing to help the newest of the players and the timidest of players as well. Plus, it will keep you updated on the latest of events.
Forums are at this link: http://www.esouthkorea.freeforums.org/index.php
The Official IRC: eSouthKorea @ irc.coldfront.net

-Fill Envoy Posts, there is nothing better at the moment to help South Korea engage with foreign countries than by establishing embassies and meeting political leaders. Simply asking for a diplomatic post on the Forums, and maybe a quick few reasons as to why you are qualified to fill that post, can satisfy the basic qualities to be an envoy to the country of your choice. However, bear in mind that by traveling to another nation you represent South Korea's interests, and that acting courteously and with manners can travel a long way when in diplomacy.

-Have Fun!, an obvious request, but never the less the most powerful one of all the others. Remember: it is just a game, but have fun when interacting with others and enjoying your time on eRepublik!

And that is the top news story today.
