The economics of a gaming company

Day 3,165, 07:07 Published in Serbia Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

I have read quite a couple of articles along the lines of why Plato just wants to make more money by introducing the Maverick Pack. More more more.....

During the start of internet new concepts saw the day of light Freeware and shareware. If you look at entertainment today the Internet is actually the place where you could still pay nothing for content.

Hence most games have an option that is free to use. And then later on introduce ways to make money. And that is usually where the problems begin. One can only sell an advantage over another player in an online game. BUT WE MUST ALL REMAIN EQUAL? You dont want them to make money although you use the bh's you get to buy your own packs. The players who buy your packs may not have the same advantage you have in a game? You want a basically free game and will quit if the status quo is changed and your competition gets better.

And Plato is the one being unrealistic? Right! This is still in the testing phase. Let them test it. If your correct then you will make less money and cant afford to by IK pack with game cash right meaning less IK Packs being sold . If your wrong however and their finances improve? Does it therefore not disprove your theory that this new pack is catastrophic.

Its almost if they transcended some primate Internet Law you wont make money from your talents. Games is funded by ads or in the alternative by the user base.

You say develop this game and entertain us but do it so that no one pay any money and there is no ads and so that all players can be equal.

Erepublik need money to pay for the update , upkeep and expansion of this game.

It needs money for salaries electricity bills and all the expenses associated with a game.

It needs more workers to expand its current lineup of games. Developers and project managers must bring updates that ring their tills

It said Test Pack? If everyone stop buying IK Packs then the test pack will be a better seller and implemented.

Their obviously sharing why they did it. Their obviously listening to your feedback. They called it a test pack and said that air battle changes will be introduced to follow the feedback they received..

They cannot remove all packs from the game without introducing ads.

At some point in a game there is a threshold where ether the players are wrong or the company is wrong. I am thinking that its the former. You dont want to gain any experience ever? You want to make hundreds of bh's medals a month and use them to fund your game for free. A game involves give and take.

We all know that true new players dont have any reason to be buy an IK Pack with uber tanks taking all of the bh medals. Your making it a new player thing. Yet your misguided in your arguments as it clearly is about an established low level old account that will lose some twerks it has.

In my viewpoint the tests must run its course. Complain if you want but dont expect the easy game to last indefinitely.
